Leaf is a good reflection of the Marxist Party. No Platform other than hate, no position other than lies. And he comes complete with drooling gruber followers.

Cleaning out the stalls and pens was a never ending job on the farm when I was a kid, but I kind of enjoyed it. It was time spent with my grandpa and dad. The manure was tossed in a spreader and spread all over the fields. I figured that is still being done, just in a more sophisticated method. Livestock is disappearing on the farms in our area, but we have a couple of newer neighbors who do have some now. One is a young family, who has an ever changing array of farm animals and the other is budding enterprise of raising newborn feeder calves. Rock 50 million tons of crap stacking up there gives you a distinct advantage over coastal states. The elevation there is obviously rising with all of the additional crap added to the land mass every year. As glaciers melt and oceans rise states like Texas get our shores messed up with more water. Less room to party on the beach. Your state with the rising elevation of crap has a definite advantage in that respect. Someday you guys up there will be partying on a mountain of crap while we guys down here will be fishing on a never ending lake. Great Blog. Medicare For All. Party On! (indoors) LOL

Mrs Joe In your state how many acres do people usually have in order to call it a farm? Hopefully the young couple are not getting (newborn) calves from dairies & trying to bottle feed them into feeder calves. LOL Tell them Tx said stop! Those will never grow into a good feeder calf. They will have a pot belly and amount to only a bag of bones after feeding for 3 years. LOL The object is to make$$$---not play around! Party On!

Actually, they have several breeds of calves, including some Holstein, Guernsey, and Jersey. The start out in huts, on nippled buckets, then advance to solid foods and graduate into a bigger feeder lot and pasture. The are not pot bellied at all, and I'm not sure what their final market destination is..... might even be back into the dairy. I can assure you that they must be making money because they recently doubled the size of their enterprise. We used to raise a calf for our own use, and often it was a dairy type and never had a pot belly bag of bones. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

That may be the size of the farmland owned, but most farmers in our area farm several hundreds to a few thousand acres. They not only own their own land, but they usually farm the land for others also. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Mrs Joe Those breeds are all dairy calves. Dairies here keep the newborn heifer (female) calves for replacement cows. They take the bull calves away from the cow as soon as they are born---usually before they get the first milk which stunts them for life. Many years ago they would give them away free because no one wanted to mess with raising a bag of bones in a feed lot. LOL (They eat as much as a beef cow or steer and grow slowly. LOL Dairy cows (females) grow up to be very skinny with humongous tits. Several gallons of milk every day. Perhaps 10 gallons. LOL Beef cows (females) gain massive weight fast. they have small tits. LOL We had to keep 2 or three dairy cows around -----rope them off in a pen so some of the beef calves whose mommy had too small of tits & no milk could get enough titty to survive.LOL Beef cattle steers (males) sell at a premium over any of them & no problem with tits. LOL Being from Texas I have a lot of experience concerning cows & tits. LOL Sometimes I wake up at night thinking about tits. LOL Party On!

Rock best thing about livestock is they don't know or care a damn thing about politics or left & right. LOL Thanks for a non political blog. I was going to say it cleared the air here in sff but then I remembered that 50 million tons of smelly hog crap up there & it ruined my train of thought. LOL Party On!

I've not talked to the neighbors with all the calves............ it is also a possibility that they are raising them as milk cow replacements. But I know they have between 50-100 at all times, and once they reach pasture size, they are gone. They are the only serious livestock farm that I have seen in our whole area.
