I heard her say that, and I thought that she should have quit when she was ahead, but her mouth just keeps on running. It's one thing to discuss tax rates, and quite another to say the government should decide how much a person should make.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Block, here's a thought … make your 10 million dollars first, and then worry about "the left".

Block please give us a breakdown on how your consumption tax would work.
Like how much you would you tax food, utilities, healthcare & other necessities.
How much tax would you apply to the premium when a person buys insurance?
Please keep it simple-----which I am sure it will be.
Copied statistics will be appreciated. I am open to your proposal.
Like how the annual tax on what I purchase would differ from the annual tax I pay now.
I like anything that will improve upon what we currently have.

Would it be ludicrous to tax a retired person with (no productivity) on everything he or she consumes while a person making millions might only consume 1/100th of what he makes.

Who benefits MOST from our capitalist system?

Many retired people spend ( all ) of their income on necessities alone.
Your plan could place the whole burden of supporting the government onto the middle class while the true capitalists get almost a free pass

Be careful what you wish for

Amazon paid zero tax on over 11(billion profit) last year.
Zero tax on over 5(billion profit) year before that?
Would your plan rectify that?
THEN who does pay.
Cancel those damn food stamps----Corporations need a break on what they are paying into that program. Cut Medicaid ----corporations are paying too much into it.
Corporations need a break.

Couple problems Block, Federal minimum wage is 7.25 per hour .. those people don't buy anything.

And the elephant in the room is that retailers habitually lie to the government about sales and sales tax collected. 30% gives contractors and vendors even more incentive to lie … if you know what I mean.

You'll need a g-man for every business license ..

If AOC want me to make more $$$$$ that's fine with me but I don't think she has the power to determine that. People should be able to enjoy what they earn - Consumption taxes make sense. The more a person earns, the more they spend and enjoy. It's win/win for all.

Are you aware of it .. you don't pay income tax on SSI. Most people our age live on less money than we did when we were working. Pensions, annuities etc. are usually taxed but pensions don't come close to the wages most of us (working class) made when working.

Do you think you might need a car sometime ... check out what a 30% tax on it would be. Block thinks you should pay 7500 dollars tax on a 25000 dollar car.

Sounds like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders ..
