And CA is broke, with people moving away from their high cost of living and taxes.
Personal experience with "free education"........... I paid for my 12 month LPN classes, but several there had them free from public aid or their place of employment paid for them. Most of the drop outs and flunk outs were those there on a freebie. And guess what? The school lost money because if someone starts on public aid and drops out for whatever reason, the state does not pay the whole tuition like we private pay folks had to pay.
My son paid his way through welding school, and there were some there on public aid too........ and a lot of them quit part way through.
Perhaps, when something is free, it has little meaning to many folks because it isn't money out of their pocket, it has no value to them?
Oh, and of course it isn't free........... those things are paid for through taxes. Property or income tax, they are NOT free.
