The landscape looks cold..... but the barn is so inviting. I love old barns, maybe because as a child on a farm, it was my playhouse.
I'm amazed at the talents of so many bloggers. I have no creative talents like that, and grow frustrated when I've tried sewing or crafts. I've always said the only thing I can draw is flies!
If I have any talent, it's more along the lines of writing and poetry, but I've not done any of that for years. I used to sometimes write my informal daily report at work in the form of a poem.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Painting is a pleasant way to 'lose' yourself, be in the moment. Your paintings reflect calm

Perhaps for you these paintings are laughable but as the late Jean-Michel Basquiat (naive/primitive artist) aptly stated - 'I don’t listen to what art critics say. I don’t know anybody who needs a critic to find out what art is'.

You're criticizing my critique.......the critic's critic....double jeopardy.....and, by the way, saying Basquiat was a (naive/primitive artist) is labelling and critiquing his work.......an ignorant critique at that .....where did you come up with that?.....

'naive/primitive' as well as 'neo expressionist' have been used to describe Basquiat's paintings - they're not necessarily my views. I simply responded to your disdain/mockery - who are you to scoff at the creative efforts of another?

Who are you to be critical of my response? .Anyways, I was scoffing at the whole phenomena....the toddler-like paintings, but especially the flattering comments......wow, you're so creative and talented.....You know what happens when people praise and try to elevate mediocrity?........It creates more mediocrity......causes mediocrity to flourish.......I have witnessed this phenomena many times and it causes people to believe that they don't need to try any harder, seek knowledge.....it shuts down the will to learn.....

I find this phenomena especially laughable when it's perpetrated by the very people who claim to detest Political Correctness.....who rail against the idea of giving all the children trophies and complain of giving them too much "self esteem"......Now here they are giving everyone who posts a picture a "Participation Trophy".....
