A youthful glass

YOUTHFUL GLASS.

What is a merry hand, which holds the glass
And I raise it in a good time’s allow
For the drink is talent and come to pass
I am in happy mood and more in flow

Come on now wine, to give me an acquaint
Of my younger days and a jolly tongue
Such a sauciness and no more the saint
Now here’s a bawdier song to be sung

I’ll share a kiss with all and to the fun
And dance away the hour till light is here
A merry drink till the wine is all done
And cheers to a barrel of finest beer

A bold quench of thirst is to life anew
The more I drank and the younger I grew

Lovely poem Ron, I love a glass of wine or two, nothing like it

Thank you so much, Maudie. In my mind's eye, I tried to imagine you overdoing the wine but the picture does not materialize. I would ask that you have a drink on me...
