In natural age.

IN NATURAL AGE.

Does one age to distinction’s quality
That wisdom is common to nature’s grey
Or does one question one’s own sanity
That wisdom is sanity gone astray

Does a slight zephyr gravitate to storm
Given to time‘s allowed aggravation
If that is circumstance, weathering’s norm
Then is life to normal calibration

Are we to energy’s phenomena
That we age to cloudy deterioration
All the wiser, the high and commoner
That grey becomes gold in estimation

Comes with age is nature all the wiser
That we are to all youth the advisor

Thank you, thought provoking. The verse 'a poor but wise youth is better than an old but foolish king who will no longer accept correction.' [Ecclesiastes 4:13] drifted into mind - it would fit in with your musings also I would think.

Thank you for your comment... And, no matter how wise we are, we can still learn from youth.

Very interesting poem Ron. Very thought provoking indeed.

"That grey becomes gold in estimation" I like that

It's good to write which has the reader thinking. Sometimes I write a poem and then spend a lot of time trying to understand just what I meant... Happy reading, Maudie and thank you.
