The look of love.

The look of love.

I saw her the once and her eyes were doubtful
On the second meeting, her eyes were curious
On the third occasion, her eyes were searching
And on the fourth, I saw her eyes light up

And my world became alive to my own vanity
That my mirror was all a reflection of her eyes
The very amour of love was in her look at me
And my return of look was in all joy’s apprise

I became a titanic force of indestructibility
Her eyes showed a fascination of true intent
And I believed this sensation of translucency
That her look contained all reality’s invent

In a woman’s eyes, if to a darling invention
Are to making of any man’s transformation
Love’s eyes are within a changed intention
Reflection of a hero is look’s determination

I saw her once and her eyes were so distant
On the second meeting, her eyes inscrutable
The third occasion were her eyes insistent
On the fourth meet, she made me beautiful

Love at first sight? I think 3 or 4 sights to achieve the light in the eyes.

Ah, dear Breda... The romantic poet has an inward look, that one looks into the heart and writes what one sees and therefor blind to the look of others.
