The sun is shining here today! I worked a little in the yard, picked up pine cones and fallen dry branches. Two heavy duty bags are filled. We had rain every single day for about a week and low temps. - Yes, your state is very big with a population of only about 25 million...... Germany makes only 52.65 % of Texas with a population close to 84 million. There is enough room for that country in one corner. LOL

That's why The Great Republic of TEXAS needs to be remembered and revived!. JD's family is from Granville area . Reestablish the Republic and we'll be down with plenty of firepower to defend it !

Houston area is kind of the same, they get a lot more rain down there than we do up here, plus the temperature was in the 70's there the last time I looked.

Sounds like you were out enjoying the sunshine today even though it was yard work. I was doing the same thing a few days ago.

There's a lot of open land in Texas. Maybe someday it will be populated, maybe not. Some places look pretty barren out west, but you will see a lot of cactus and tumbleweeds! My youngest has been trying to get me to sell this place and move west, but unless you have a good water source out there, you'd have a hard time growing a garden.

I think Granville is now considered a ghost town and it's not far from Lufkin, TX. It's about a 200 mile drive, give or take, from where I am.

I agree, we need to bring back the Republic of Texas!!

It was a lovely bright mild day here today. It was a pleasure being out and about in it.

Yep, love the sunny days too!

It's overcast today, but at least it isn't raining. Still muddy from yesterday, so not going outside much today.

Hi Archer! So my guess is you live on the coast, or near it?

Thanks, I wish the cold weather was going away, but we still have February to get through. That always seems to be the coldest month here in N. Texas. I don't really mind the snow, it's the ice storms that I can live without.

HI. TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, YES, I LIVE JUST 2.5 KM FROM THE SEA, JUST A LITTLE OVER 1.5 MILES. IT SNOWS HERE ONCE EVERY 5 YEARS OR SO AND THIS IS THE FIFTH YEAR. WE ARE NEVER PREPARED FOR IT AND WHEN IT HAPPENS, THE CITY JUST PLAIN STOPS. HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU NOW.

How nice is that to live so close to the Med. Coast? Lucky you!

Sounds like us when the weather trips us up. Thankfully it doesn't last for more than a week, or two at a time. That is, the ice and snow doesn't last long here.

The sun is shining today, but give it a few more days, temps are supposed to drop again with a chance of ice. Keeping my fingers crossed that I'm far enough south that I won't get any of it!

Did about 235ks on the bike yesterday, was on it again today, having another little ride. 37C (about 98F) Snow is that stuff on weather reports elsewhere, mainly in overseas countries. We even have quite a few great days in the Winter.

Finally fixed my tank (had rust in it which kept blocking the injectors, even with a new filter). The bike shop wouldn't do the rust, they made all sorts of excuses. Too hard for them. Got the rust out with electrolysis, then acid, then lined it inside with epoxy. What annoyed me about the bike shop is no communication, 2 months they had the bike and did not even start on it, it took me a month to do the job, had to make special plugs to seal the holes and wire up an anode etc. but it's going like a train now. I've bought a 2nd hand tank, looks new, might get it hot dipped galvanised, never a rust problem again.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

Sounds like you had a great day then, no snow, no rain, great day to ride!!

If all metal was galvanized, we wouldn't have to scrape the rust off and repaint it. I'm looking at my old Dodge pickup that I have to sand down and repaint this Spring, or sell it as is before it rusts away.
