What is so amazing you may ask? What's amazing is seeing my property turn from brown to green right before my eyes. Not kidding! Not sure if everyone has known Texas was in a drought. Red flag fire dangers for weeks. Praying for rain and praying that one of your neighbors doesn't decide to barbeque on a windy day. Driving into town I would see signs on churches saying "Pray for rain", and dog gone it, we did! Prayers were answered and we are maybe one, or two inches away from our yearly total. White Rock Lake got over 15 inches of rain, some areas got 12, I know we got 10 inches where I live, and some places got around 6 inches. That's a lot of water in less than 24 hours. Sad thing is, a lot of people had to be rescued from their vehicles, homes/apartments were flooded, and sadly, one woman died when her car was swept away by flood waters. I did call both my daughters that morning to make sure they were alright. One stayed home and worked, the other one got to work but had to walk through a somewhat flooded parking garage to get to her office. She said she was freezing because her shoes and jeans were soaked. Better freezing and alive than the other option. Plus side is, the grass is green and already growing again, down side, looks like I have to get out there and mow again. I think it's been at least two months since I have had to mow. Well, the break was nice, now it's back to work again!!

We are having a dry spell as well. Fortunately I stored quite a bit of water in rain barrels so I have lots to water the tomatoes.

After that long time of hot weather and drought, I would be dancing in the rain, Nile. I read the news about the heavy rain that flooded Texas. Wasn't sure about the areas concerned. We had rain for several days with longer breaks from time to time. That crossed my plans of wood painting and other maintenance work outside. Enjoy the fresh air outside now! Nileyears sometimes it is just feast or famine. We had lots of rain in June and into July. Now we are having a hot spell and the grass is brown. I'll be glad to see some rain again which may be tomorrow. We are also supposed to get cooler temperatures.

WE ARE IN THE SAME SITUATION, DROUGHT, WATER RESTRICTIONS AND WORRY ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN THE STORMS FINALLY IT. IT RAINS EVERY AFTERNOON IN THE MOUNTAINS JUST BEHIND US BUT SO FAR THE COAST IS STILL WAITING. I CAN ONLY WATER MY TWO PLANTS WITH THE WATER FROM MY A/C DEHUMIDIFER.

We get our fair share of rain here in Ireland, too much at times 🌧️.☔. We do get the odd dry spell, so I know the problems that can bring, especially for farmers. Good to see you have nice green grass again, even if it means all that extra mowing.Thank God we don't get extreme weather conditions here, just wish we got a little more sun 🌞

We had a little over 2 inches of rain here. The grass is turning green again. I thought it was dead for the year. I predict fresh chicken eggs on the 16th of next month. LOL
