Repeat: That came straight out of the mouth of a Biden official.

Samantha Powers made it very clear that this fertilizer shortage will hasten the farmers to change their farming methods to a more environmentally friendly way of farming.

She suggests that they use a more natural way of fertilizing such as manure and compost.

That's my method here for my garden, compost, horse manure and chicken poop and egg shells, but how is that going to work for the farmers that grow on 10,000 plus acres of farmland? I have to wait till the next growing season to use what is produced this year.

Environmentalist want to get rid of the cows and their burps, and even at this time there aren't enough cows on the planet to cover acreage of that size. So how is that even going to work? Farmers can't afford the high cost of fuel for their farm equipment to produce the food, add the high cost of fertilizer, that some farmers have decided to wait and not plant this year, it's not cost effective, they lose. If you think electric farm equipment is the answer, think again. There aren't any electric tractors and if they plan on developing some, that could be 10 years down the road.

Biden said there would be a food shortage in the next six months, he wasn't kidding. Looking at all the processing plants and animals that are being destroyed, you better believe it's all planned.

Any farmers in our area that even still has livestock, already spread the manure over their fields. But as you said, it only covers so much. People who live in big cities have no idea what farming is really all about.
Many farmers today have college degrees. Farmers have to be scientists to test and determine what their soil needs each year, mathematicians to figure out just how much of each element in fertilizers they need, and what the expense is going to be. Then they often have to be businessmen make the best deals with the banks for loans to purchase what they need in the areas of seed, fertilizer, and equipment, and watch the stock markets for the best time to sell their crops. They also have to be mechanics to take care of minor repairs on their equipment, and computer wizzes to program the new computer operated components. During planting and harvest time, they are up and out in the fields before dawn and work long into the night. IF they happen to also have livestock, it has to be tended twice a day.
People like Powers are so out of touch with the real world of the regular people of our country that it would be laughable, if it weren't so sad.

You said it all, farmers of today, especially those that grow for the masses, have to be very knowledgeable in their field of expertise. Me, not so much, I only grow for myself and family. LOL, my soil testing skill is to find out if my soil is too acidic, or too alkaline. You can order soil testing kits online, or get one from a feed store. Wilted, not getting enough water, small plants, I need to add more compost. Lol, my scientific gardening method.

My Grandpa didn't have a huge garden, but then again, he didn't sell his veggies for a profit, his bread and butter was made from his cattle and chickens. Yes, he worked from sunup to sunrise when he didn't have his grandkids out there helping him.

People like Powers do not care about anyone but themselves. I wonder if she thinks that she's so important that the food shortage won't effect her? Time will tell.

As I was saying to MrsJoe, they don't believe this will effect them. They don't realize they are being used and when the time comes, they will be kicked to the curb. They just aren't as important as they think they are.

The big farms depend on an oil based fertilizer, not natural fertilizers. Like I said, not enough poop for big productions. So kill of all the manure makers and what's left? No food.

Oh and about the money. That chicken production plant culled 5 million birds and burned down the plant. I found out he is getting paid 5.3 million in subsidies.

Good job!! Now the rain will get it soaked into the dirt! Easier than making a tea fertilizer.

Of course it won't affect her, and others like her. I wonder if the rich, political bunch even have any idea how to balance a household budget? Probably not. They just buy what they want, or someone in their household staff does. They probably haven't a clue as to costs and expenses, until it inconveniences them personally. By then, those costs will have devastated many normal households.

Um yeah, LOL.

The person you speak of has been known to stir up trouble. I've done my best to be patient with it, but it gets old and life is too short to let it continue. As one friend pointed it out to me, I decided enough was enough. I do believe she was the one who reported my Meme, she has no sense of humor, can't even cut up and joke around without her twisting your words around to fit her meaning. It's up to you if you want to continue to put up with it.

It's not their money, it's tax payer's money that they work hard for. That political bunch is nothing more than a bunch of parasites. They do nothing but take, spend and dictate how we should live and do without!

Farmers I know still use manure. They also compost waste from the previous crop. Something really useful trending now is to use "sludge" a byproduct from the paper industry....let me just say it is amazing stuff.

Farms are disappearing though. Expense vs. Profit is not at a good ratio. Its poor planning on the part of the government. Anything can happen at anytime, that knocks out global food producers. It will be catastrophic when there are no more American farms feeding America.

Samantha Powell never worked in Biden's Administration. She joined the Obama State Department transition team in November 2008 and served as special assistant to President Obama and senior director for multilateral affairs and human rights on the National Security Council from January 2009 to March 2013. Following her tenure as ambassador, Power returned to Harvard as a law professor.

Won't argue with you there, but not all farmers use that method and use an oil based fertilizer.

About a month ago one of our local farmers spread manure in his field. Every time the wind blew from the south, I got to smell it, LOL, and it didn't smell like roses.

I can see tree sludge as being a great fertilizer. If you have raised garden beds you can use tree branches as a base, add soil to cover them and as the branches decompose, they help provide nutrients to the soil. Sludge would speed up that process.

They are and I can see why. Farmers work from dawn to dusk, they don't make a lot of money from all that hard work. The children don't want to take over and keep the family farm going, they want an easier life. That happened here, right next to me. The father died, kids sold the land to a broker, bye bye farmland.

We have a longer growing season here than up north and some plants will still produce until the Fall, others? Not so much. A greenhouse is in my future plans.

My suggestion is to grow your own, but not everyone is able to do that, but if they knew someone with land, they might be able to start a food cooperative.

I was watching Dan Bongino's show when I heard about this. He was saying pretty much the same thing, though this report does cover more. The protesters are professional and are paid to be there. Bongino had a video of some liberals fighting with each other, so many bleeps because they were cussing each other out, LOL, so civil. Then the paid protesters came in and started their chanting, if you know what I mean, and got the protest more organized... but yes, the democrats will continue with their deceptive ways until we put a stop to it.
