Glioblastoma is one of the most vascular brain tumour and highly resistant to current therapy. Targeting both glioblastoma cells and angiogenesis may present an effective therapeutic strategy for glioblastoma. In our work, we show that an anthelmintic drug, __________, is active against glioblastoma cells in vitro and in vivo, and also targets angiogenesis. __________ significantly inhibits growth and anchorage-independent colony formation in U87 and T98G glioblastoma cells. It induces apoptosis in these cells through a caspase-dependent manner. ____________ significantly suppresses the growth of two independent glioblastoma xenograft mouse models. In addition, ___________ effectively targets angiogenesis through inhibiting capillary network formation, proliferation and survival in human brain microvascular endothelial cell (HBMEC). Mechanistically, __________ decreases mitochondrial respiration, membrane potential, ATP levels and increases mitochondrial superoxide in U87, T98G and HBMEC cells exposed to _________. The inhibitory effects of __________ are significantly reversed in mitochondria-deficient cells or cells treated with antioxidants, further confirming that __________ acts through mitochondrial respiration inhibition and induction of oxidative stress. Importantly, we show that ________ suppresses phosphorylation of Akt, mTOR and ribosomal S6 in glioblastoma and HBMEC cells, suggesting its inhibitory role in deactivating Akt/mTOR pathway. Altogether, our work demonstrates that _________ is a useful addition to the treatment armamentarium for glioblastoma. Our work also highlights the therapeutic value of targeting mitochondrial metabolism in glioblastoma. - Highlights: • _________ is effective in glioblastoma cells in vitro and in vivo. • _________ inhibits angiogenesis. • _________ induces mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress. • ________ deactivates Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.

I have noticed in your blogs that you have a tenuous grasp of Scientific principles and a very simplistic approach to problems. There is no absolute here, Ivermectin should be administered by a specialist and the packaged drugs which are safe for animals such as horses are not safe for humans To quote the FDA "For one thing, animal drugs are often highly concentrated because they are used for large animals like horses and cows, which weigh a lot more than we do—a ton or more. Such high doses can be highly toxic in humans. Moreover, the FDA reviews drugs not just for safety and effectiveness of the active ingredients, but also for the inactive ingredients. Many inactive ingredients found in products for animals aren’t evaluated for use in people. Or they are included in much greater quantity than those used in people. In some cases, we don’t know how those inactive ingredients will affect how ivermectin is absorbed in the human body." This blog is quite literally dangerous. A simplistic approach like this could put people's lives in danger. If you cannot see this then please stop posting about medical of which you have little or no knowledge.

Here is this wonderful medicine that could save the lives of people with brain tumors and you want to say it's dangerous because you think people are so stupid that they are going to visit their local feed store and grab a box. Is that what you really think? Or maybe you read about that hospital in OK where they supposedly turned away gun shot victims because people overdosed on worm medicine? That story was debunked, it never happened. I doubt the people here at SFF are going to run out and grab a box of paste wormer because of my post. I had three people in my life who died of brain tumors, my sister, my step sister and my friend's husband. I watched them all go through their treatments and the horrific pain they endured. After all that torture, they died anyway and those who watched them suffer were left with those memories and the huge medical bills. You call my post dangerous? What is so dangerous about a study that could give hope to people in the future?

I believe, that the occurrence of this tumor in Nile's family, had a big impact on her. She came across the information and had the need to talk about it. None of us is a medical expert..... I know that the medicine Nile is talking about, has been used in humans for 30 years, to treat several diseases other than brain tumors. It is a prescription drug that is not available over the counter. I read a short article about it, published by the Mayo Clinic. When it comes to a diagnosis of malignant tumors, I am sure, that people concerned will seek second and third opinions..... Ivermectin won the Nobel Prize in 2015 for medicine for humans. Being that it is a cheap drug the pharmaceutical companies wouldn't make any money from it if used for cancer cures. It's all about the money!

It's shocking to think that the pharmaceutical companies can wield such power and get away with it, criminal really.
