I love learning new things and through your post today I learned that there are lighthouses on freshwater. I truly had no idea! It must have been tricky to take the photos from a boat but you did a great job!

A day without dance is .... just kidding. I have no idea!

Wow! Amazing photos. I have always considered lighthouses magical. The contract of the light house against the tall city buildings is ironic. I always expect to lighthouses in rural coastal areas.

I agree with all of the others that Lighthouses are magical. I really found them intriquing!

With so much technology today, it is surprising to me that lighthouses are still needed. Great pics!

Well done, Nile! I don't know whether to skip it for it's late, or be the last one tomorrow.

Ha, I wasn't even thinking about it being on freshwater, I just think lighthouses are really cool. The boat was big and the water was calm, so I had good footing. I want to share the pics of the sailboat, but I'm saving those for the Letter S day. Way ahead on that one.

Nope, I really never liked my picture taken, camera shy and not into taking selfies. That's where I can get away with it here, has to be pictures that we took ourselves and I'm not in any of those.

Thanks Star. Yep, me and you both, I love lighthouses. I thought the Chicago skyline looked pretty cool by itself, but the contrast was pretty awesome.

Well, true, but what if all that technology fails? Thanks Koffla.

Great lighthouse shots - I particularly liked the last. I love sailboats/sailing - what a thrill it must have been cruising on a sailboat in such a big harbour sailing past skyscrapers in the process.

I haven't posted a blog either this week, have been a bit off colour, almost back to normal :- )

Very nice photos there , Niley, there is something really special about lighthouses. Great " L" pictures, and a good find.

Navy Pier is a beautiful spot too, especially on a nice sunny day.

Your pictures brought back memories of a trip with my son and his family. We went to Chicago to see the Titanic exhibit and then planned on going to the Museum of Natural Science and the Aquarium the next day.
There was a big football game at the nearby stadium, and the parking for it had spilled over into the whole area around the museum so there was no place to park at all.
We went to Navy Pier and enjoyed the day, and took a ride on one of the boats there. We couldn't go all the way out to the sea wall because the windy weather would make it too dangerous, but I remember the lighthouse.

Thanks Lilium! It was fun, not quite as thrilling as the smaller sailboats I'd been on in my younger days, but still fun.

I hope you get to feeling better and we see a post of yours soon.

Thanks Maudie! Navy Pier was great! I had no idea there was going to be all those little shops there. Had a blast! After Navy Pier we ended up somewhere in Chicago looking at this giant silver bean and water fountains where people would go to cool off. It was a fun trip.

I'm happy to bring back those memories Pat. I've been to the museums in Chicago, they are really awesome compared to what we have here. Took three days in 3 different museums and still didn't see all the exhibits. Maybe someday I'll make it back up there, time will tell, I don't do road trips as well as I used to.

It was a very calm and sunny day when I went to Navy Pier, guess I lucked out.
