I should have added, it's freezing here too. I live in Toronto and it's been a very cold winter.

Sounds like a good way to spend an bad weather day. It's sunny and around 70 here so no excuse not to get out and finish grooming the tropical rainforest I crated in the back yard.

Hope your granddaughter is not like mine or you will have to peddle fast to keep up. Once she learned to read music she can pick up any instrument, go on line to see the mechanics of it all and play it. Not fair.

Ok Spirit, don't rub it in, lol, this is Texas, it was in the 70's a couple days ago, and as the expression goes, "If you don't like the weather, stick around, it will change!" Have fun grooming your tropical rainforest.

As far as me keeping up with her, so far not worried, but she does learn fast! I'm her instructor and very proud of how quickly she's learning. I got her a guitar first, she lost interest because she wanted to play the fiddle, so I got her a violin, she was doing ok until she heard me playing the guitar again, so it's back to were we started.

You are right though, once they can read music, it's full speed ahead!

Hi Nile: I saw your reply to Shuel and wanted to tell you that I live in Canada too right near Niagara Falls. I haven't been to the Falls in years as there are too many people and lots of traffic there. When they were filming the movie Niagara with Marilyn Monroe in Niagara Falls, my father was standing right near her and he said she was so thin with very pale almost translucent skin.

Nileyears replies on 2/23/2015 12:59 pm:
That is so cool Bijou! I've never been there, I'll have to put that on my bucket list. I've never seen the movie Niagara either, but I wonder if what your father saw can be depicted in the movie?

Yes, I do like bread. Now it is your move!

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Nileyears replies on 2/23/2015 1:28 pm:
Hahaha Alfie, but I know better than to flirt with you, you're taken!!

But if not!

Wheat, Rye, or white?

Great blog Nile. Cold wet and windy here in good old Ireland.

Nileyears replies on 2/23/2015 4:49 pm:
Thank you Maudie!! Can I ask you something, and no, I don't want to know if you like bread, lol. My daughter and I want to travel to Ireland this year, and then Scotland. What is the best time of year to be traveling there?

This is complicated: I tried to reply to Nile's question about Niagara Falls but I couldn't. The system didn't allow my reply since Niles first replied to my comment. At least, I assume that's why I couldn't respond.

I haven't been to Niagara Falls in years but I heard it froze over. It would be interesting to see.

Hi Nile, I would recommend September as the best time to visit the British Isles because that is the most reliable month for decent weather.

We get woeful summers here most years but September is almost always dependable for getting out and about for sightseeing. It's the luck of the draw really at the end of the day.

Maura, I would love to go to Ireland, where there are many redheads. It would be an interesting experience for other reasons too, of course.
