What TV Shows Do You Miss Or Do You Love Watching?

As was brought up in Mrsjoe's post, there are TV shows that are off the air that are missed. For me, I really love shows with twists, much like I try to do in my stories. LA Law was one of my favorites. I actually signed a petition to bring back Boston Legal. We see how that turned out. Murder She Wrote was fun to watch.

It's funny because I admit that I love reality shows and most of them have been on decades, yet people find it amusing I love them. I just finished watching the Big Brother finale. I watch The Amazing Race, The Bachelor/Bachelorette. I watched The Apprentice when Donald Trump made decisions on who would get fired versus decisions for Americans. I love cooking competitions like Masterchef, Top Chef. If the word chef is in it and it is a competition, chances are I watch it. I love to see how people act under pressure.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Orange County are also on my record lists, Vancouver and Toronto versions were on at one time so I did my civic duty and watched both of them (I am a Canadian after all, eh? 😀) No, I do NOT watch anything Kardashian. Even I have my limits. 😁

Now it's your turn.

Thanks for reminding me, I love soap operas. 😀

I like many things and watch them as diversions from real life. I am fully aware what is real and what is not. I also love playing word games like Words wtih Friends, Jeopardy and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. To reassure you, when I win $1 million in the latter game, I do not expect a cheque in the mail.

I have to admit I never really gave that show a chance but someone in my family loves it and its spin-offs.

Good choices, Bijou. Of course there are many shows I don't watch that are equally great television.

The Wonder Years. About family & innocence. Somewhat normal to the way people lived before deceit took over.
No crime, court, killings, cops, explosions or disasters etc.

One series I recently binge watched was Downton Abby. I will miss this a lot. I'm mostly a news hound these days. I find amusement online mostly and always enjoy the thrill and agony of sports programming. I appreciate good story telling and I found Magnum PI very unique in that regard. It was rare to have narration mixed in with the drama.

Hi Elaine,
There were soooo many great tv programs in the past!! Many actually required the viewer to seriously watch and think. In my humble opinion the current menu is designed to amuse the masses..... and unfortunately they are easily amused.

Having ranted above..... LOLOL.... I have always preferred the programs from the UK. The actors look like real people and the plots are thoughtful & interesting without a lot of gratuitous violence.

I remember Magnum PI. It was good. I actually never saw Downtown Abby but heard about it. I don't think it is available on my channels. Thanks Leaf. 😀

Rant anytime Rocket I don't think I get UK shows but I definitely heard some are good.

I never heard of 90 Day Fiance. Sounds interesting though sometimes things get a little silly like the one I do not watch where they meet and marry then get to know each other better. To me love comes before not after getting marriage. Not to mean you can't continue being in love after marriage.

Cheers was indeed a non-stop laugh. From the opening itself it just took you away for awhile and made life better.

That's what a good show should do. That reminds me, I also like Modern Family and The Goldbergs.

This is just to say hello, I'm glad to see you here, Elaine!
At this stage of my life, if I watch television, I prefer some reality shows or entertainment programs, especially about dancing or singing. Something that fills my heart with a nice feeling. Or some interesting documentaries. There are some about home remodeling, I also like them.

Hello back. 😁 Always nice to see you, Lucy. I agree, it is nice to feel good when you watch a show. Home remodeling ones I have seen a bit and they are fun to watch. Now that you mention homes, I have enjoyed International Home Hunters and other programs where someone is looking to buy a house.

NO CHEERS.
I didn't want my children to see that people actually lived the bar scene life until they were grown & on their own. Then they would hopefully think about it from a different perspective.

No they were not brainwashed into church on my watch either. They decided on that when they could decipher what is & isn't LOL
Party On!

Parents should decide what their minor children should watch. 😀
