WHEN IS IT TOO MUCH?

When is it too much?

"In a survey that's still under way, more than 8,000 people over 50 have already revealed what happens in their relationships — and in their bedrooms. Now the creators of that survey — writer Chrisanna Northrup, AARP relationship expert Pepper Schwartz, Ph.D., and sociologist James Witte, Ph.D. — tell us what's typical of seasoned lovers.

How often do you and your partner make love?
31 percent of couples have sex several times a week; 28 percent of couples have sex a couple of times a month; and 8 percent of couples have sex once a month. Sadly — or so we thought — 33 percent of respondents said they rarely or never have sex. But even among couples who report being "extremely happy," an astonishing one-fourth rarely or never get it on."

Interesting study~~~~~

I think that there's more to loving someone than just the actual sex act, especially for those with health issues.

I agree, Rocket. I have spoken to guys that just wanted a hug or other sign of affection and couldn't get it. Thanks for your response.

Great answer, MySeek. I have often described some sex acts that way. I won't go into detail here. Thank you for your comment.

Most of sexual desire/ response/pleasure in in our beliefs about it. Unfortunately most of us were raised in a sexually repressed and restrictive society. Some overcame this, some not. As people age physical issues can interfere but can be overcome or worked with as long as the participants haven't gotten discouraged becasue they so not measure up to what they think is normal.

There was a time in the not too distant past that SFF administration ran word recognition software and if they found the word "sex" in any contribution or response, the whole thing was immediately deleted. One poor guy wrote about the sex of his dog and got deleted. Perhaps he should have used the word "gender".

Apparently another thing they looked for was an "at" sign because that sign is rarely used for anything else other than an email address and they didn't want people exchanging private addresses and emailing privately thus depriving the site of revenue.

Times have changed.
