I HAVE BEEN FEELING DOWN

I never realized how important talking is. Usually if I am lonely, I call a friend. Other times, they call me. The past 5 days have been depressing. I can't call anyone and my friends know they can't call me. I would be tempted to say something if they called so I told them better not to. There are things I needed to deal with and not being able to call regarding those matters, has been difficult. Thankfully only 4.5 days to go to end these 10 days of silence that the doctor ordered.

I hope it's alright to put this in a post. I guess I needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

Thanks Pat. Yes, I am counting the days. It is harder than I thought. For me, it is difficult because I can't speak to my friends. Thanks for caring.

My sister said she was thrilled but she changed her mind. She now has to read what I write on the pad. Thanks for the laugh, knxldy.

I am so sorry to hear that Elaine. I understand your frustrations for not talking to another but if that's what the doctors advice you, then you follow him. You will be fine. You are in my prayers.

Take care!

Thanks Betty. There are worse things than not talking for 10 days. I am just feeling depressed but it will pass.

Thanks Puzzles. You aren't far off. I made the odd mistake of saying something to myself, out loud.

Elaine I cannot imagine not being able to talk. You cant even talk to yourself either. I guess I would have a writing pad with me everywhere if I wasn't allowed to talk. I could put my thoughts and frustrations on paper. You are halfway there now so hang in there.

Sometimes I prefer to "go silent"Elaine, especially when I am going through panic and anxiety. I feel I can work my way through it and not havinvg to chat can have its benefits. You are almost there.

Thanks Shartaun03. I did talk out loud to myself by accident, but on the whole, I have been good. It really is the best I could do. I am now more than halfway. It ends Sunday night at midnight.

It doesn't work that way for me, Robyn. When something worries me, besides googling on the internet, I talk about it with my family and friends. Yes, the silence will soon be over. Thank you for your comment.

I would like to thank everyone that responds to this blog. I just needed to get something out and since I can't speak, it was the only way. Thank you all for being there for me. You are very kind.

BTW that should have read 'carcinoma' but you undoubtedly understood. Oh yes, I got through it ok and last fall I had the 'all clear' statement from my oncologist at Princess Margaret. What a great feeling!!
