ALWAYS THE LAST TO KNOW

Do you always hear things after everyone else? I know some people that whenever anything happens at work or elsewhere, they are always the last to know. Is it that they don't pay attention until it's too late? I wonder if that's what breaks up relationships. Some people don't listen to the warning signs that things are going bad.

You brought up an interesting point, Pat. Thank you. Yes, there are people who know too much about things that don't concern them.

I admit I'm frequently shocked by some things the masses don't seem to know about.
Yes, I can see how that can happen. As far as this post, I really meant closer to home. Thanks for your comment, Leaf.

When it comes to relationships, in my opinion, the internet has completely changed inter-personal relationships. I'm still assessing that impact. On the one hand I see more opportunity than ever to get information that can positively impact the quality of relationship. However, there is also ample input out there that shines a spotlight on the problems. It's a more difficult balancing act than ever before. I don't see how that can be argued. But the really bad news is the ramification of the increased awareness. It has diluted the opportunity for negotiation, and therefore discovery and growth, to levels that not only zap the energy for it, but have completely erased the wonder that is discovery and the passion for it. It's no secret what forces in a relationship make or break them...jobs, children, money, sex and chores. All of these items come with complexity and consequence...serious consequence. I think we were better off when people pumped the gas for you. There is too much self sufficiency in society now. There is less need for nurturing and thus less closeness, less dependence. So many couples are totally unprepared to cope with the new realities...fewer mutual joys than ever before.
There is no doubt that the internet has had a great impact on our relationships. Families spend less time talking. When you are in a room with strangers, practically everyone has their devices (tablet/smartphone) out. Things are sure different from when we were younger.

I'm always the last to know, and that's okay with me, saves me from all the drama.
