BE HONEST - DO YOU HAVE FAVORITES? All parents say they don't have favorites. I don't buy that for a moment. In my family, my brother is the oldest and definitely the favorite of both our parents. Everyone sees that. You don't have to say who your favorites are, in case your or grandkids read this, but will you admit to having a favorite /grandchild? Elaine Shuel |

I know that my Mother favoured my older brother but he was about 13 years older than me and my other brother, so got wiser a lot sooner! LOLOLOL

Hi Elaine: It was so obvious that my parents' favourite was my older brother. He was so mean to me and my younger brother, and my parents would never discipline him. Instead they always blamed me and my younger brother and say that we must have been doing something pretty awful to drive their saintly son to commit violence.

I don't really have a favorite in their entirety but I have favorite things about each of them. Raising children with serious needs (thankfully they took turns) there were and still are times when each felt one of the others was the favorite. The "favorite" of the moment was the one needing special medical care, financial extras, education needs etc. I'd love to have an honest open discussion with them so I could understand them better. I was going to ask the same question Liszt asked. What happened to the pic of that absolutely gorgeous redhead? Was that you? P.S. We used to have a day in the blogs where we would post old pics of ourselves I once posted what I felt was one of my very best pics taken when I was in my 20s. . SFF denied the pic and informed me that it wasn't even a pic of me???

When I was pregnant, if someone asked what I'd prefer: a boy or a girl? I always answered: what God sends is OK. But as I was a single mother, in the deep of my heart I desired a girl...

Hi Bala. Welcome to my blog. I hope to hear your comments. Elaine Shuel

That's a great answer. Perhaps my assumption was incorrect. I was basing it on my family and indeed favoritism exists in it. Thanks for your comment, Mary Ann. Elaine Shuel

That was cute, Maisie. Nice thing to tell your son. I'm sure he liked hearing that. Thanks for your comment. Elaine Shuel

Good morning, Elaine. I reiterate once again - great blog topic. While it may be a few more years before I can proclaim that glorious title of "Grandmother," I can speak glowingly of my two incredible daughters. A favorite - impossible - their late father and I always adored their uniqueness, similarities, and differences. God, as always, perfected the parent/child connection - unconditional love. Now, I wait for a beautiful grandchild to love, kiss and spoil beyond reason. Have a great day. Elaine Shuel

I don't know why sons are favored by mothers more often than daughters. In my family, my father favored our brother too. Neither parent saw that they showed they favored him but they did. No, that pic of that redhead wasn't me. I'm a redhead but she's a model. She is one of my phone sex characters. When I was testing the problem with getting the pictures upright, I put up that pic since it was handy. I later put to hide the post but something didn't work obviously. I hope it's hidden now. Sorry for the confusion. Elaine Shuel

Thanks for your comment, Lyn. I am wondering if the situation arises more in families with sons AND daughters. Elaine Shuel

I don't know if it's that mothers favor their sons. My brother was my dad's favorite too, at least I thought so. Wow, I don't see my previous reply to you. SFF must have deleted it, for some reason. Oh yes, I used the word s e x. I said that was a model's pic that I used for my phone s e x job. I have the legal right to use that pic. I was testing the problem with my pics showing incorrectly and her pic was handy. I hid the post, at least I thought. It didn't disappear right away. Sorry for the confusion. Elaine Shuel

I most definitely have no favorites. I have 2 sons 2 daughters and 4 grandaughters an not one of them are a favourite. Thy are all completely different and I love them all equally.
