GOOD CAN COME FROM BAD!

I just read a heartwarming story. A lung transplant recipient met the mother of the donor of her new lung. Lyndsey McLaughlin had cystic fibrosis and Diana Rodriguez's was the donor of her new lung. Lyndsey was slowing dying as her lungs kept losing their ability to function. She was put on a donor list and thanks to the wonderful gift she got, she's now doing well and has her life back. It's unfortunate that Diana's Adrian died from slipping off a subway platform and getting hit by the oncoming train, on his way to school. Adrian was an aspiring young chef. Thanks to his family's generosity, Lyndsey is healthy and recipients of his heart, pancreas and liver are equally grateful. It's a gift that is unequaled. What bravery it takes to donate a loved one's organs. I applaud Diana Rodriguez.

It also shows something else, at least to me. The donor was black, the recipient white. That made NO difference at all. We are all human beings, black or white or anything in between.

What a great story Elaine! It warms my heart to read about someone like this. You are so right that colour of your skin makes no difference. We are all the same within our bodies. Obviously the lady who received the donated lung didn't care either.

Thanks Shartaun03. I wish everyone would realize that's what really matters. We are all the same. I appreciate your comment.

A sad and happy story, a tragic end and a new beginning. I feel for the mother, Diana Rodriguez, but I am happy Lyndsey.

If we were all turned inside out, we'd all look the same.

I know what you mean, Rae. I'm happy for Lyndsey but I do feel for Adrian's mother. Thanks for your comment.

I'm sorry that he died too. He seemed to be a very positive young guy with a bright future. It's a tragedy. I am happy that good came out of it and it seems to be helping his mother cope. Thanks for your wonderful comment, Bill.
