DOGS OR CATS - WHICH DO YOU PREFER?

I already know Maisie's choice. "Cats rule", as she stated. So IF you had to pick either a cat or a dog, which would you prefer as a pet? You can't cheat and pick both. I choose dogs.

I meant to ask, why female dogs versus male dogs? For the sake of this vote, sex doesn't count.

That's 3 for cats and 2 for dogs. Thanks Ann. Given I never owned a cat, what is about them that you prefer?

I have to admit Lulu, you're the first person I know who referred to animals as "love slaves". I don't see a pet as a slave. I see him or her as someone that loves me unconditionally as I love them. There is no "slave" involved. Thanks for your interesting comment.

That's 4 for dogs and 3 for cats. Thanks MySeek. One horse for Rae.
A dog does require exercise and going out to do their business. Cats sound easier, I must admit.

5 in favor of dogs and 3 for cats. The dogs are leading the pack. Hooray!!! Thanks Helen. I'm totally unbiased.

From the day my mother brought me home I always had both. Due to my lifestyle and living situation my dog stays with my son and only have a cat with me. As for them being slaves - mine have always been rescues who seem to make me the slave.

It sounds like it's 5 for dogs and 4 for cats. Thanks Spirit.

Elaine I am a dog person. I had a dog for ten years and then he got sick and he had to be put to sleep. I never got another dog. But there are plenty of dogs in the neighbourhood that I can enjoy. Cats are great but I think I am allergic to their hair so could never have one.

Everyone who reads this post, please read Nileyears (Rae's) related post about cats. It's hilarious and one of the most entertaining posts I ever read.

I much prefer dogs because they are more loving and loyal. We have a black cat called Charlie and he adopted us lol. He is spoiled rotten by our two daughters and I must admit that I do like him

btw: I'm allergic to cat dander.

That's 7 for dogs and 4 for cats. The vote doesn't include Charlie since nobody could buy him as a pet. He's taken. Thanks Maura.

After reading Nileyear's blog (very entertaining so please read it, assuming you haven't already), cats sound like they are a lot of trouble and dangerous to one's health. We're now at 7 for dogs and 5 for cats. Thanks Pat.

I know your message was for Lulu, but I have to admit that I agree with you. I have trouble seeing how anyone could perceive an owner-pet relationship as being a love slave to Master.

I already counted your vote so we're still at 7 for dogs and 5 for cats. Thanks Maisie.

That's interesting to find out about you, Rocket. So it seems there should be 3 choices. That's 2 now for horses. Thanks for your comment.

The only thing about horses is it might be hard to gallop around the house.
