ARE YOU A ROYAL WATCHER?

First of all, I hope that the coming week is a great one for everyone!!! Friday night is Good Friday and is also the first night of Passover. Whether you're celebrating Easter or following the Jewish traditions involved in Passover, I hope you have a great time.

I have been fascinated with the British Royal Family since Princess Diana entered the picture. I was up in the early hours of the morning on their wedding day, to see her marry her Prince. It didn't turn out quite the way I expected since I bought into all of it. The whole Camilla thing and how unhappy Diana was surfaced later. Some see Diana as a victim and others as someone who wanted the spotlight. I see her as someone who was used by Prince Charles. He had no business marrying her if he loved Camilla. It doesn't matter the rules of the family. He knowingly used Diana and that's wrong in my books. I have no respect for him.

What I admired most about Diana is that she taught her empathy for others. She introduced them to those less fortunate. She wanted them to see how the other half lives. She cared about people. I still remember when she touched someone stricken with AIDS, the first public figure to do so.

I enjoy seeing Kate and William's love story play out. I am looking forward to the birth of their baby, which I hope is a girl. Prince George growing up will be fun to watch. It's been a long time since we've seen a little girl in the British Royal Family. Unlike his parents, this couple is very much in love. It's such a wonderful thing to see them interact.

What do you think about the British Royal Family and especially Kate and William? What about Kate's sister Pippa? Any other royalty you like reading about? I used to find it interesting reading about Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie of Monaco.

Yes she did, Lucas. She was a wonderful and devoted mother and did a wonderful job raising them.

Elaine this is such a great subject as I am a huge fan of the Royals and especially William & Kate. They are such a great couple and they are definitely living their lives differently than their predecessors in the royal family. I was also a big fan of Diana. I think Prince Charles has mellowed over the years an you got t remember who his mother is and has been a controller over that whole family. Diana was strictly used for breeding purposes and yes she raised two wonderful boys but her life was the pits after she and Prince Charles got married. It is so nice to see that both William and Harry have their mother's personality and continue to carry out her legacies.

I'm a big fan of the British Royal Family, especially now that the beautiful Kate is a member. She and William make a lovely couple so well suited unlike Charles and Diana who were totally wrong for each other. It was an awful tragedy that she died so young

Lovely pictures especially of baby George, so cute.

Some of them seem to be quite unhappy. I guess you can have what appears to be everyhing, but in some ways, have so little. Thanks for your comment, Pat.

Thanks for your great comment, Shartaun03. I knew I'm not the only one that watches them, or there wouldn't have been so much interest in the wedding of Kate and William or his parents. It's sad how Diana was used but I'm happy about how her children turned out.

No, I do not like the royal families, just like celebrities, I find them all boring and undeserving of the worship their fans have for them.

I think about all the money they spend on houses, cars, jewels, gowns etc... that could be spent on families that have nothing. They are a waste of space!

I can see why you feel as you do, Nileyears. I can't really explain it but I guess the royals and celebs are a good diversion from one's own life at times. At least that's my excuse. Thanks for your comment.

Interesting choice for a favorite, Liszt. You are correct about him being true to himself. He has been known to say things that have caused some trouble though.

No, I'm not a royals or celebrity watcher.... but for those who are.... ENJOY!!!

Our opinions of these folks is definitely press agent and media driven. We don't really know them at all....imho.

There's certainly some truth in that, Rocket. We only get to see what they want us to see. Then again, the same could be said for many people, even on SFF. Only we don't have press agents.

Hi Elaine: No I don't follow the Royal Family. To me the idea that one family is royal and all the other families in a country are not royal is ridiculous and should be abolished.

Wow, Diane. I just noticed that my reply to you was banned. I bet it was for using the word s e x. Sad that's a bad word to SFF. Anyhow, I am reposting my response, separating the letters in the word. Here it is:

It would be nice to see a cute little princess. We'll see what happens. It won't be long until we find out the s e x of the baby. Thanks for your comment, Diane.

Prince George is so cute and he definitely looks like a handful. You are right, the difference is that William and Kate work as a couple. Diana and Charles weren't a couple in the real sense of the word. They had sex to have their children but I think that's where it pretty much ended. At least, that's the impression given.

Writing one's memoirs is quite difficult to do. I have done that actually so I know firsthand. They could be interesting to read.

Have a wonderful week Renee and thanks so much for your comment.

I consider her one of the British Royal Family. She was always the most fun of the group.
