I love emoticons

I think emoticons are the cutest things. Sometimes I don't use any of them. Sometimes I'm not sure which I want to use. Other times, if I wouldn't look silly, I would use a ton.

Do you have favorites? I've seen some that aren't listed here. I tried to put some on but they don't seem to be working here. I believe some are limited to the programs we are using.

Do you have any unique ones you could post here? Give the code if you have it.

Does it annoy you to see emoticons used in a message?

I like emoticons......they help the communication along sometimes.........I just wish there were more to choose from......for instance, something between full Ha Ha laughter and a small smile.....that shows genuine mirth, but not falling-down laughing........There is the sh*t-eating grin and the sarcastic laugh.....also I sometimes really want a "Oh my God, seriously? that is so messed up" emoticon but have no idea what it would look like.......
Thanks Lulu. I do agree that the emoticons on this site are lacking. There are better ones out there but they don't seem to be able to be used here. I tried.

Thanks MsEd for such a sweet comment.

Emoticons are so much fun to use. I once had a chat online with a friend, just using emoticons back and forth for awhile. It gave us both a good laugh.

Have a great weekend!!!

You are so right, Pat. Misunderstandings from only seeing what's typed are plentiful. On the phone, one can hear tone of voice. Over the internet, it's hard to tell and an emoticon can help. Thanks for pointing that out.

Cute ones, Rocket. Thanks, they make me laugh. I've seen hugging ones that I've liked. I wish I could put some other ones up here.

I didn't get that last part, Bill, but thanks for your response. I definitely wish they had more emoticons, covering more emotions and activities.

I just made a joke over on Dougny's blog and when I looked at my "where you were quoted" I found out that I had been completely misconstrued and many people had commented on my "negative" comment instead of the blog. It didn't seem to occur to any of them that their interpretation of my comment was negative.....anyways, I might have avoided that situation if I had used emoticons......Being an artist, I have always used images to express my myself.....this venue is a real challenge ..........we all make assumptions.............
Lulu, I can see how that could happen. Emoticons really could help in showing your comment on that blog wasn't meant in a negative way. Thanks for showing how emoticons can be useful!
