And the winner is.... The Oscars are on this Sunday. Any predictions? Did anyone see "Fifty Shades Of Grey"? What did you think about it? Elaine Shuel |

I have to admit that I do watch the Oscars, Golden Globes and Emmy Award shows, to name a few. I guess I like watching celebrities. I do agree they do toot their own horns too much and wonder how they find time to work. My boyfriend and I seldom go to the movies either. I have TMN so I tend to watch them when they come out. I was thinking of perhaps going to Fifty Shades Of Grey given the hype but we'll see. Elaine Shuel

No I haven't seen the film or read the book as yet. There sure is an awful lot of hype about it. An Irish actor plays the leading role. I have to say he is very easy on the eye. He is a nice guy so I hope it does well at the Oscars.

They give themselves awards and emphasize their "social conciences" because they realize they really have no useful skills and contribute nothing to society, but get rewarded obscenely well for their frivolity. This way they can try to convince themselves they do something worthy of the money they get, and don't have to feel embarrassed. GBU, Gavin

I rarely watch the award shows. I've found many of the best movies and best actor awards prove disappointing when I see the movies. I rather think that some of the awards are given for other reasons....eg. True Grit with John Wayne was a terribly acted movie, Whoopi Goldberg in Ghost was a good movie but her acting was sooo much better in other movies. Fifty Shades of Grey is a good example of what love is NOT. I posted an excellent article on this in fb by Meg Meeker MD.....A Psychiatrist's Letter to Young People About Fifty Shades of Grey. It's a super read for all women!
