Happy Valentine's Day!!! Thought I'd beat the rush to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day. I have always felt that EVERYONE should be treated well on Valentine's Day especially women (sorry I had to add that). When I didn't have my boyfriend, other family members treated me or I treated myself. So, be good to yourself. You deserve it!!! I have to add that over dinner, someone told me there is now ANTI-VALENTINE'S DAY. I never heard of such a thing. Is that new? Elaine Shuel |

Here in Mexico it's dia de amor y la Amistad, celebrating both love and friendship. Small tokens and getting together are more common than extravagance, although there is the romantic aspect as well. Singles are definitely left out. My companion and I will likely spend they day hanging out with our fellow guests, some, of them who are here by themselves , some in groups and some couples, at the pool then have dinner at the hotel restaurant, again with a cross section of other guests. I can certainly see your point of view, Maisie. The way I look at it is that there are so many sad things in life, when there is reason to celebrate, why not do so? It doesn't have to be expensive. The guy could write a beautiful poem or just words that will melt the heart of his loved one. Women can do the same. Elaine Shuel
