~~~~~~~RESPECT~~~~~~~
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
I'm not sure how I feel about this. Something I am pondering is if I do this, literally, am I being true to me and respecting myself?
On the other hand~~ Is it up to me to determine who deserves or does not deserve respect?
When do honest feelings enter into the equation?
If ignored, Am I enabling someone by "respecting" their bad behavior?...A lot to think about ~~~~
SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO BE A BIT HYPOCRITICAL. YOU SEEM RESPECTFUL WHILE INNERLY MAINTAINING YOUR PERSONAL DISLIKE. WITH SOME PEOPLE THERE IS LITTLE CHOICE IN THE MATTER.
Wonderful blog and it really does cause me to think. I think respect is something that is earned. I do not respect everybody but I will be civil and courteous to those that I do not respect. I do not expect anyone to respect me if I have not earned their respect but I do expect them to be civil and courteous as I would be to them.
Creative Ideas.
I try to show respect to everybody regardless. I have to admit that sometime I don't really feel it down in my soul. Mom always told us to "kill them with kindness" and sometime it works.".
I can see the dilemma.
I don't respect folks who are 'bad actors'..... but I also refuse to go down to their level either.
There's a quote by I'm not sure who that goes something like: I've learned never to wrestle in the mud with some animals. You both get dirty, but the animal likes it.
Absolutely true!
If you expect nothing from anyone, you won't be disappointed, but you might be pleasantly surprised.
