Have YOU ever been to a SFF bash??? We have been to several bashes in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee. We have made great friends and are still in contact with them. Too bad you haven't gotten off your high and attended one or more. You would feel different |

I would suggest that everyone block her/it, if there were no blogs for her/it to read it wouldn't be able gain ammunition with which to attack bloggers and would surely stay away.

I have very much enjoyed the bashes & meets!! Meeting folks I had only met in the chat room is just the greatest. Many of them have become special friends. Great FUN ~~~

Just one in Florida, and we enjoyed it very much. Met some very nice people there including you and Alfie. Made special friends with Theresa and Drew. We had the good fortune of meeting up with both of them again.

Joe and I have been to many bashes and small gatherings with people from SFF and others we met online. We also met some at just one on one meetings, as we traveled through their areas or they through ours. Bigblock and his wife are a prime example of that. We became good friends and would meet up a least once a year until his and Joe's health issues prevented it. We have met more people than I can remember, and several of them have become friends that we keep in touch with on the phone, letters and cards, email, and online comments like this. I started out keeping a little notebook of people we had met, but after I filled several pages of it, and then was seeing folks for the second and third time, I stopped keeping it. There were over two hundred names in it at that time. Just in those that have commented on your blog so far, we have met Rocketship and you.... and of course, Alfie! LOL. So if we block a person we won't see their posts at all? That would be nice to come in and not have to sift through the garbage. Oh, I forgot one in Blackpool too. We met with Blackpool bloke, can't remember his real name, Katie and Lubby and three other people whom were friends with Lubby. We also had the mini bash in Dublin with Robyn, Gina and Theresa. Theresa was over visiting with us at that time.

Unfortunately no, can't do that in the blogs. Just have to scroll on past them, which if the numbers mean anything at all, most people do. Plus, the name changes so fast that it wouldn't be possible, but they are easy to spot.

Unfortunately, my financial realities don't allow me to attend as many bashes as I would like. I did attend the Reno gathering when I lived in the area. I do know how to travel on a shoestring budget to a point. I have plans to attend the Biloxi gathering. Abracadabra

Those big ones were quite the event, weren't they? Joe and I got where we enjoyed the smaller ones even more than the big bashes. A group of 10-25 people was a good size. I didn't get to meet you at the meet and greet at Commop's but Joe did. We had only been dating a short time and he had previously invited Halfbreed. She offered to back out, but I told her that we would still pick her up and take her home. I couldn't get off work, so Joe went without me, but he took me to meet Commop and Granny ahead of that weekend. I was sorry to not get to meet you and Satire. I think Cub's Fan was also there, wasn't she? Too bad it ended so tragically for Commop, getting twisted up in her dog's leash and falling. I remember, years ago, seeing photos of a bash where people were playing this game......there was a line of about a dozen women lined up beside each other and they all gripped rolls of toilet paper between their knees, the holes facing out. 12 feet away were 12 men facing them with brooms gripped between their knees, handles facing forward........when given the word, the men advanced towards the women and attempted to get the broom handle into the hole in the toilet roll ......Hilarity ensued........... I made some comment about the sexual insinuations of the game and EVERYONE insisted that there was NO sexual insinuations or aspects to the game........I pointed out the obvious.....hard pole enters soft hole, the fact that only women had a hole between their legs and only men had a pole between theirs.......Everyone was outraged and called me a perv and piled on me for ruining their innocent game.......That's when I knew for sure that SFF bashes were not my cup of tea........  ......

I have been two bashes. One in Seattle but the same one as Sandy and another one was in Eugene, Oregon. Rich and Carol Salmon were at that one and also at the one in Seattle in 2010. I don't see Rich 1937 in the blogs anymore so wonder if he is okay. Lindy Sue13 hosted the one in Eugene, ORG. I think she moved to Mississippi some time ago but have lost track of her. Carol Yarger was also there and her handle was Christmas. I heard there were some talk in the chat room about having another bash in Seattle.

i remember there was always snarkiness and revenge stories after bashes....LOL....people accusing each other of dark deeds and others taking sides......I remember one bash where several women who had never met in person decided to share a room and they ended up fighting over a man......a cell-phone ended up in a toilet and one of the women accused another of throwing her phone in the toilet and she said no, you were drunk and dropped it in yourself .....or some such thing.....and sides were taken.....Then there was the whole T-shirt fiasco ......It seemed like the site was always over-run with high drama for weeks after every bash........that's why I laugh at the people here going on about how this site used to be all fun and friendliness......

Don't quote me on it, but I believe I heard that Satire has passed away. I can see how he might have been the "crowding" type person. Commop was lucky that Granny9 was there and able to take her for medical attention after everyone had gone. Granny often went to visit Commop, and she was there for a week before the event and stayed to help her afterwards. Commop now lives in Florida nearer to her family there. Granny9 has been gone for a few years. BTW, she was the first SFF person I had met (after Joe) and we often met up at luncheons in the Joliet area that Plano (who is also gone) put together. It was at one of those luncheons we announced our engagement and Granny9 attended our wedding. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
