One of the glorious gifts of spring here-rhubarb. Didn't realize it needed cooler weather.

I never thought about rhubarb not growing in warm places. I usually visit my MA family in the Spring and strawberry rhubarb pie is a staple, probably why I didn't miss it here. .

you can use figs and strawberry jello and it taste like strawsberries.
I have never had rhubarb either living it Texas it is too hot for it.

I remember when Grandpa died. Several people had brought food. My great aunts, Grandma, Mom, my brother and I were sitting at the dining room talking. My great aunt asked if there was anymore goosebery pie left...I laughed and said, do you mean there really in such a thing as gooseberries!! I used to hear my Dad talk about gooseberries and figured he was making the word up...he did that.
