Hugs Abelle...we had our Thanksgiving in October. A little simpler, we had no pilgrims so just followed the ancient custom of celebrating the harvest. (pumpkins in the harvest LOL}. I'm sure the first Thanksgivings were pagan and had sacrifice, but thankfully those days long gone. It is only the poor turkey who makes the ultimate sacrifice to adorn our Thanksgiving table..LOL I must say with gravy, cranberries and two local veggies...YUMMMMM. I have to wait till Christmas now... Can you tell me how the turkey became such an important part of Christmas dinner..I haven't a clue. You two lovebirds have a wonderful Thanksgiving...Erna

Interesting blog. Thanks, Abelle. In these countries only bilingual schools make mention of Thanksgiving. Children have the day off. Anyway, it's good to thanks God for our blessings, not once a year but at least once a week.
