MORE ABOUT MAISIE

Maisie is still in the ICU at Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga, slowly, slowly recovering from her very severe stroke. She is receiving the best of care, I am happy to say, and I have hope for a full recovery eventually.

My daughter and I visited this afternoon, and were both struck by one thing: Maisie is by no means a vegetable. Her personality and strength are very much intact. This will be very bad news for SportsbuffHal under his various handles -- he has taken it upon himself to say the vilest, most insensitive comments I have seen on this site. We have our own staff of trolls, but Hal has shot to the top of the list.

It is always difficult to see a loved one in medical distress with many tubes and IVs stuck in her and monitors flickering. But I tell myself that these devices preserve life until it can sustain itself.

I would be grateful iof you would continue to pray for Maisie. I am convinced that is helps. God Bless all.

its good to see she is a fighter...............I repeat the medical communities prognosis of this type of stroke you clealy said she suffered.

fight and determination are great and certainly needed. Many stroke victims I rushed into hospitlas simply Quit. Only professionals working the Medial Community can understand how strong ones WILL TO LIVE CAN allow them to survive and carry on despite all odds given when compared to other documented cases.
That she is able to think I a rational manor is great news......Im sure being over two weeks in a special care unit. many batteries of testing are being performed on a daily basis.

You did not mention any medical information outside that you have hope after saying "after she suffered a very severe stroke..

Her home care is key and I hope in carrying your optimistic long term outlood.
She is alive and will have some element of life expectancy with the proper supervision around the clock.

If she can converse effectively without handicap. her life can be made to provide her with a degree of hope, acceptance and prospects long term.

Many elderly stroke victims I took into the hospital pulled through and were also transported by me to Nursing or speicality homes with all the tools, equipment and highly trained personal to support those brave survivors.

I tell it like it is good or bad. I was hoping for a medical opinion by this point in time as the industry time frame if no more hemorrhaging is taking place.

Blood thickening had been successful, pressure well below high normal is standard and her circulatory system is close to normal.

Many medical doctors prefer to keep key information fromf amily which I strongly disagree with.

They use the reasoning that it is much easier for them to treat by choices available what they feel is called for and in her best long term interests.

now castrate me again for putting facts that are far more important than prayers out in the open.

so vent your frustrations in full! lash out you good people that pray in one breathe and yield the voice of the devil in another!

in conclusion, all strokes are preventable if a group of certain actions are taken.

Maintaining Good health is not accidental. many factors enter the picture especally when passing age 60's

Diet, exercise, regular medical checkups, home blood pressure and pluse rate monitoring .machines as well a oxygen level finger stick on indicators.

so fire away as I took my rock dodging course on the island of Denthead some 14 years ago..

Glad to see your words of positivism. Stay positive and do the work the medical profession suggests. Even though I believe we have much to say about our own fate, my positive thoughts on your family's maladies remain constant.
