OTHER WONDERS OF MAURITIUS ISLAND My Dear readers, here is another introduction of other well known sport adventures in my country. Mauritius is renowned for its tropical beaches. It remains one of the hottest holiday destination in the Indian Ocean, offering utmost comfort and relaxation. The Pearl of the Indian Ocean as it is called, has also an outstanding reputation for the many water sports it offers.: kayaks, pedal boats, stand up paddle, water-skiing, water bikes and the coral-sea lagoon offers exceptional snorkeling and diving experience. With its calm waters, the lagoon of Mauritius, provides the ideal conditions for amazing water sports adventure. Surfers gather on this island to take advantage of the year-long trade winds which are particularly favourable in winter. The vast white sandy beaches and the challenging reef waves make the island, one of the prime kite surfing destination, in the Indian Ocean. [U]Other water sports activities are: 1- Scuba diving is the best way for tourists to partake in the pleasures of watching nature’s amazing beauty. Such as cliffs, caverns, reefs, pinnacles and wrecks. Divers will appreciate the stunning beautiful underwater spots in Mauritius. 2- Eager to try a new water sliding sport? You can now experience the joys of Stand-up paddle boarding. 3- Big game fishing, out at sea you can catch marlin, sword fish, sharks, tuna, skip-jack and barracuda. You should definitely not miss a catamaran cruise. 4- Snorkeling Among Coral Reefs. Coral reefs are among the world’s most spectacular habitats and and Mauritius has some of the best of them!, Snorkeling is an excellent way to explore this underwater paradise. It is fun, safe and a great way for the whole family to enjoy their time too. Gavin hi, Thanks so much for visiting my blog, leaving your nice comments. Mauritius is in the tropic of Capricorn, further down the Gavin, that why we have very nice weather here, not very hot, neither too cold also. Yes all the water sport activities can be played all year round too, as our winter is a mild one as well. To visit Mauritius, can be expensive depending on where one wants to stay, either in a 5 star hotel or just can rent a bungalow which would be far less expensive also. Many nice furnished bungalows are on the seaside as well as restaurants and s/markets, this really makes a great difference too Gavin. Lots of foreigners have, after their retirements, settled here too as it is very peaceful, calm and also have all the needs. It's not that expensive like Europe, once one has his own lodging and his transport, that's what are the main things really, then one can live anywhere on the island, inland or on the coast, or on the seaside too.
