It has been decades since I wore a belt..... elastic waistbands hide a world of sins, and make life so much simpler, especially when rushing to the toilet!
Joe's arthritic fingers can no longer manage a belt easily, so I bought him those click belts. So much easier to manage. He also had trouble with shirt buttons, so I got him snaps, and even those became difficult, now all his shirts are pull overs.
We just have to make adjustments as we age............... but I never could figure out a Rubik's Cube. LOL

I much prefer elastic waistbands to having to fight the buckle when nature calls and is screaming...hurry up

That would be fine, except there are certain conditions where one has absolutely no warning at times.

Me too..... and if I can help it, I don't buy blouses with buttons or snaps because they tend to gap across my chest. I like my clothes nice and roomy. My daughter got me a lovely shirt with snaps for Christmas and I was so relieved that it was roomy enough to put on and remove over my head.
I also understand about the need for pockets! When I was working, not only did my pants have pockets, but so did my uniform tops. Now, I have to rely on just pants' pockets, and I'm lost if I wear one of the few pair of dress slacks that I own, because they have no pockets! And I refuse to tuck all the essentials into my bra like my gramma used to do.

I use suspenders - much easier and more comfortable than a belt

I still tuck essentials in my bra but sometimes I forget to take them out when get home and sling my bra across the room. They land on the floor and bending to get them is not easy as it used to be.

I remember my Grandma kept her teeth in the top of her corset that had a built in bra.
