WHY ARE POOR PEOPLE STUPID?

That is the question I want Democrats to answer. Let me clarify

Every time there is a voter ID law being debated, the Democrats come up with the same canard. Poor people wont be able to vote , if you make them have an ID.
Why? Don't poor people go to the Government office where one signs up for public programs? Don't poor people ever go to the unemployment office to look for a job ? Are all them non-drinkers, non-smokers, because they never had to show an ID for beer or cigarettes? Have none of them ever had to pick up medicine that requires an ID? Have none of them rented a house, an apartment, or bought a car?

In other words , why is no one crying out to help these poor hapless people, who have no idea how to live in modern society? Why is offering a free ID so hard for them? The ID is for in-person voting, so they got to the polling place. You can even get an ID at the polling place, according to a new NC bill, which its Democrat governor is threatening to veto.

Of course this is ridiculous. There are no such people, so why do Democrats create them? The latest is Gov. Roy Cooper of NC's nonsense. He said that the bill's fundamental flaw was a "sinister and cynical" attempt to suppress the voting rights of minorities, the poor, and the elderly. He forgot to throw in women, who Eric Holder thought were too dumb to get a new ID if they changed their name.

It is not a coincidence that all the people supposedly affected by the so-called draconian ID laws , all historically vote Democrat. Why don't Democrats want those votes protected? Or is it because when voter fraud is found, almost all of the fraudulent votes went for Democrats?

Ever wonder why , in a close election, with a recount, the suddenly" found" votes go to Democrats? I suspect that is why the Democrats are terrified of universal voted ID- they can't cheat any more.

So stop insulting the people you claim to care so much about. Only looking out for them, you say? No, you are patronizing them , and treating them like children. I wonder if Cooper would care so much about the poor if they all voted Republican?

Some other greatest hits:

Your water fountain is voter ID." — Rev. Al Sharpton, March 16, 2012

“These laws are the new Jim Crow laws of our times.” —Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin (D), June 11, 2012

" They’re pushing laws designed to change election outcomes by reducing voting, repressing turnout and turning the clock back to the days of Jim Crow. This is the exact opposite of where our country needs to go." — Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) , Dec. 7, 2011

Apparently the African Americans in states with voter ID , somehow are smarter than those in states without :

“I don’t think it is disenfranchisement. I think that African-Americans that are citizens of [the] United States of America can get out and vote. Four years ago we saw them vote in numbers that had never been seen before.” — Rep. Allen West, June 18, 2012

Against voter fraud from those who no not vote Democrat. One person, one vote, election integrity , and all that.
Unless you are 100% convinced that there never has been a reason to ensure people are who they say they are, that everyone , despite their political stripe , is completely honest, and would never cheat to help their candidate win. And, I guess you admit that Republicans are always on the up and up and would never , ever cheat.
" Trust , but verify" is a good life lesson.

Or maybe you just dont like giving free ID's to poor people to help them out in places other than the ballot box.

Reminds me of a news segment I saw awhile back. College age kids were asked about voter IDs and they were against it because they thought black people in the cities wouldn't know how to get one.
Then they asked black people in the cities about it, and all of them knew where and how to get an id............ and were amazed at the answers by those college kids.

I saw that article. A new study showed that self-identified liberals use different, simpler words when talking to blacks than they do talking to white people.

The study was Princeton, I think. They gave two fictional names- Emily and Latisha and asked what words would they put in an email. The dumbed it down for Latisha.

BTW- this blog is not as much about debating whether or not voter fraud exists or not. It does , it has and it will happen. Proving it is the problem.

The blog is about the attitude of those who think they are caring so much, but instead are just insulting .

I believe she is just talking about one ID, the same ID is needed to buy alcohol or cigarettes, or sign up for other government programs. It isn't a separate one for each task. That would be a state issued driver's license or ID card. When Joe stopped driving, he went to the driver's license facility and got just an ID card that has his picture, address, and birthday on it.

"Vote Harvesting" (continue to collect votes AFTER the election until the numbers favor you) has proven a vast success in California. Somehow, with the Dem penchant for getting votes any way they can, I can't worry much about the poor benighted not getting to vote.

But voter ID WILL kill some of the most obvious fraud.

It's an interesting scenario to see a Presidency, Senate and House of Representatives all controlled by the GOP while a Trump loyalist takes the position the Democrats cheat in the voting procedure because of voter fraud. It seems a bit dichotomous to me, but the GOP apparently needs whining material. You see, there never has been any substantial evidence of voter fraud which determines to outcome of the election, but there has been an increase in the success of the GOP at the polls in those states which have voter ID laws. Let's make America great again.........LOL.

Voters' names are kept on a list in the county where they live. They have to register to be on that list, and it can be done the day they vote and then they would be on that list until they change where they live.
The voters' registration keeps people from voting at more than one polling place.
At least that is the way it is supposed to work.

I've argued with my liberal friends about voter ID. It's a dumb argument, to my way of thinking. OF COURSE, one should substantiate through identification exactly who they are in order to vote. I have no problem with it; I think it's essential. We have to present an ID to board a plane; at age 78 I have to present an ID to buy a bottle of wine at the local grocery store, no exceptions; I have to present an ID on MANY occasions, even to be pulled over for a burnt out tail light. I don't understand that ID should be a problem. If one is too stupid to figure out how to obtain an ID, one is too stupid to find their way home!

No you just need a Government issued photo ID- Driver's license, passport, ,military ID, a free ID provided by the Government, and easy to get. I think there are more. You still have to show an ID to get into any Government building ( welfare office, medical clinic , etc)
I think the list is longer, but each state has the requirements to vote on its website. I have always had to show an ID

Of course there is a problem with the voter id system.
Too many people are registered to vote who vote for the wrong party.
Ditto for district boundaries - they have been aligned far too often in such a way as to rob the Reps of the seats they rightly deserve.

The Reps are the party that understands the true intentions of the Founding Fathers. Voting must be restricted to White, property-owning, preferably Protestant, males. The Rep measures for voter id must always be viewed while keeping this principle in mind.

Our wonderful former PM in Canada tried to fix our system using tactics similar to what the GOP has used and continues to use.

Alas, he failed because the snowflakes voted in an inexperienced rich kid instead.

This is why you should control what you can. And that is making sure every in-person voter is who they say they are.

Obviously, your not initiative enough to understand my gibberish.. without it being totally specifics.. To me.. it isn't as specific.. as Democrats would have you believe.

First let me say.. the idea of voter fraud.. is bogus..if fraud was your concerned there are many ways to combat fraud..combating fraud does not follow party lines...Fraud, although not a priority problem still exists on many levels.. no one level being more important than another..
In Florida, for example, the accusation of fraud means very little.. when the accuser had the power for 20 years to correct it. but they choose not to correct some fraud for their own self interest. In Florida, it's evident that correcting some fraud, would adversely effect the "fraud' the party in control is doing ... So fraud is really not the issue.. The same goes for the country,, and the Republican Party.

So what really is voter restrictions? Well the specific group is not the issue, people of color or the poor.. Is not the issue... Winning elections is the issue.

There is NO DOUBT in my mind that... if every eligible voter voted the Republicans would lose.. I know it's hard for THEM to admit.. but they know it...But what they also know.. is the greatest deterrent to voter turn out is apathy.. and apathy can be found greater in people of color or the poor.

Voter restrictions are NOT for the "PREVENTION" of fraud.....but "PUNISHMENT"..... for APATHY.

Do I need to explain that to you.. Is it just more gibberish?
I will use a "metaphor".... When someone does not "want" to run in a race.. the best way to prevent them from doing it.. is put "the hurdles" in front of them..

Bingo- I agree.

So why do Democrat think the voters are so stupid that they cannot get a correct ID ? I think the worst racists are those who say having an ID is too hard for Blacks, and that requiring one, amounts to voter suppression. It is the bigotry of low expectations, and designed to keep Blacks in their " place" and dependent on Democrats.

Perhaps if you weren't so busy, you would have time to actually read this blog, and not just notice one word in the title. But I understand how hectic holiday time is. Dont you have some atheist holiday to prepare for?

I called no one stupid.

At any rate, this blog is about the low expectations people like you ( liberals ) have of women and minorities.

The original Constitution did say that , and also the same people did not elect the President, but Congress did. That is why they created an Amendment process.

I have always failed to understand why requiring someone to prove they are who they say they are is such a difficult concept for voting, but not for anything else in life.

How is someone " initiative ". which means to take the power or opportunity to act or take charge before others do ?
We'll put that sentence up there with your other meaningless drivel.

THIS is a whole different ballgame. Redistricting and distribution of 'new and improved' voting machines - at no cost to counties in the state of Wisconsin ( never before free of high cost! !) - got us where we are with the 2012 recall election of Scott Walker as governor of my state, a governor who is obviously in Trump's camp for whatever reward awaits him as a 'good and faithful servant'. Walker dropped his candidacy for the presidency in 2016 because he feared his criminal past would come back to haunt him. Otherwise, he was a republican party's favorite son. Sly little man. The same sly little man that has only recently signed bills that will restrict his democratic successor's powers once he takes office. Walker is made in the likeness of Trump. Just watch this guy fly for his LOYALTY!

This is a quite different scenario than proving one's identity at the polls.

Yes ...I do make mistakes....sometimes is just happens..and I don't realize it..

But the IRONY with YOU is amazing... and the PROOF... is in the pudding

The simple idea... that YOUR comment.. ALWAYS proves my point..your only "initiative" is to find my mistake..... You are simply not "intuitive" enough.. to understand me...or to even understand yourself..

The difference between us... is in 'words' and meanings..
for example your title... "poor" and "stupid" You think it's narrow meaning is poor...not having wealth,.... and "stupid" meaning not having intelligence.. I don't see the words the same way.. As they identify us all.... "poor" as in judgment...and the degree of intelligence doesn't prevent people from doing "stupid" things..... So as far as people go.. YOU are poor and stupid..too. You prove it everyday.. Does that make YOU a Democrat?

So my reason of how you prove MY POINT..... is in your actions.. and this blog response... I question your poor judgment and your stupidity for not seeing it. How you don't see it.. and how you will NEVER see it. how in your simple mind finding a single word mistake, can make the whole idea seem a mistake... ..

And you PROVE the point of my blog response.. not just about voter ID.. but about every "stupid" "un-intuitive" thing you do..

So let me ask you... Were you trying to PREVENT me from making a mistake.....
or trying to PUNISH me for making one?

And you are doing a great job of letting CNN and MSNBC tell you how terrible the country is doing( lowest poverty rate since 2005 ), how we are 2 seconds away from nuclear war with Korea ( what happened to that ? ), how great the Paris Accords were ( we are .5% lower in carbon emissions than 2107, and Europe is 1.5% higher ) , Canada and Mexico were goin to stop trading with us ( see trade deal ). The lowest unemployment rate since 1969. And the lowest African-American unemployment ever. Wages have risen all the way through the last two years and were up 3.1 percent in the last quarter – the highest level in a decade.

You wont hear that on your hate Trump media. because they are not honest. You will hear all about Stormy , Stormy, Stormy .
The economy is improved. Nobody denies it.

The news is the news is the news … I get news everywhere, from PBS to Sean Hannity .. and spin is just spin. Learn the difference.

Two seconds away from war with North Korea is spin. What happened to that? We're hearing differing accounts of what happened regarding nukes. We know one thing that happened … Trump caved on Military readiness exercises with the South .. as requested by the North.

Canada and Mexico WERE going to stop trading with the US .. lol ok

The Stormy Daniels "story" (you brought it up) isn't really about a billionaire with arm candy wife hiring prostitutes is it? The short version of the story is Cohen is a convicted felon doing hard time for what he alleges was directed by Trump. Stormy, Stormy Stormy isn't going anywhere

If you do not grasp the concept that when people like Eric Holder and Cooper say that poor people, Blacks and women cannot figure out how to get an ID, and that is an insult to those people, perhaps you would better spend your time with the latest super hero comic, instead of making political statements.

"The miracle of the “Swallows” of Capistrano takes place each year at Mission San Juan Capistrano, on March 19th, St. Joseph’s Day. Swallows migrate 6,000 miles from Goya, Argentina to San Juan Capistrano in large groups".

Now.. i doubt that Maisie believe in "Leap Year" in Ireland for a woman to ask a man to marry her... But maybe if she sees it.. she can believe it.....(doubtful, for her because seeing isn't believing)

It a quaint little Cal-Mex town in California.. Called San Juan Capistrano.. It's a Mission position... between LA and San Diego.... now, of course it's LIBERAL..not only that..it's got lots of illegals.. but there some advantages to being "Liberal"....Like it's a Sanctuary City, for people who could THINK somethings that should be "Illegal".. can find sanctuary!

But some possibility is better than NONE..

So my my advice to Lizst is to take maisie to San Juan Capistrano on March 19th.

To see if the miracle of "swallows" really do cum back in Capistrano! LOL

It's not abuse.. when the Goose gets all she wants... and I'm just gandering at the Gander.. when the gander thinks I'm jealous of him...Hell No... I'm more jealous of YOU
Seriously, If I was to abuse you.. I would say.....The inability for someone to laugh at oneself.. is pure Trumpian..and so it defines "deplorable".... and the new Golden Rule.. "Do it to someone else... before they do it to you.."
Even if that person would never do it... in a million years.. Because you can always find someone who would..

But you have the RIGHT.....To "Report Me' and "Delete Me" because you don't like My Joke! .....Yes... I use so-called..."bad" language, but believe me....If I wrote what I thought the language would be a lot worse.. I still got a few "filters" left.. catch me in ten years and you'll get both barrels.... Kennedy called on Congress for Civil Rights legislation in 1963. Johnson made it a priority and got it done.

Civil Rights legislation in 1964 and 1965 passed with bipartisan support and signed into law by a Lyndon Johnson. Opposition was mostly regional and on both sides of the aisle. .. and largely from the Southern (Confederate) States.

And the opposition was Democrat, except for Barry Goldwater, who wanted a stronger bill. I might also add that Johnson was the most racist President since Wilson, who made sure the Armed Forces did not integrate. Wilson also loved the movie Birth of a Nation and showed it at the White House.
It is reported that after signing the Civil Rights legislation , Lovely Lyndon said " Now those ni***rs will vote for us for 200 years ". He used the word liberally, and frequently in private meetings.
Discussing civil rights legislation with men like Mississippi Democrat James Eastland, who committed most of his life to defending white supremacy, he’d simply call it “the ni**er bill.”
Buying into the stereotype that blacks were afraid of snakes, he’d drive to gas stations with one in his trunk and try to trick black attendants into opening it.

In Flawed Giant, Johnson biographer Robert Dallek writes that Johnson explained his decision to nominate Thurgood Marshall to the Supreme Court rather than a less famous black judge by saying, “when I appoint a ni**er to the bench, I want everybody to know he’s a ni**er.”
So don't even try to sell Johnson as this champion of Black people. Oh, and BTW- the Klan was an offshoot of the Democrats.

In an article in the American Bar Association publication the following conclusion was espoused;

"The United States has a long history of expanding access to the ballot, but the advent of laws requiring photo identification at the polls goes against that history. Despite what proponents of these new laws maintain—that they prevent voter fraud and strengthen the integrity of the voting process—the experiences of voters show that these laws have done little more than suppress the vote."

Furthermore, there has been no credible evidence presented which lends any credence whatsoever to the idea there is wide spread voter fraud in the United States. Somewhere around 1950 South Carolina passed a law requiring some sort of identification in order to vote. Since then the voter ID laws have blossomed nationwide, but have done so unconstitutionally. Furthermore, these laws were passed primarily under Republican state administrations. One of the most notable objections to the voter ID laws was the Texas Law where it was decided obtaining a voter id for voting amounted to no less than a poll tax.

Finally, it has been made clear in several voter id law suits the actual purpose for the voter id laws is different from the stated purpose. The reason being the voter id laws, whether intended or not, create a prejudice against poor and minority voters. This all came to a head after the 2000 presidential election because George W. Bush was not able to garner a majority of actual votes and won on the Electoral College. The fear instilled by this turn of events implanted the fear of losing even more presidential election in the minds of the GOP. Now that we are only a couple of years from the next presidential election, we see the issue re-emerging in the live-by-fear Republicans.

Let's make America great again..........

Prejudice cannot be conquered with logic, logic didn't instill it and logic cannot eradicate it.

This is providing more than ample time for people to prepare if they truly WANT to vote. I fail to see how this has become such a huge issue. A photo ID is required of ME. Don't YOU have to provide one?

As the saying goes "that was then and this is now". The Oakland Raiders used to be the winningest team in footfall ... and what Republicans USED TO BE has nothing to do with who they are now.

Your 'he said she said' about Johnson's "racist words" translates into a non-issue. Most Southerners were racists weren't they? All you need to know about Johnson is that he signed more Civil Rights legislation than any other President. That's the History.

Speaking of History …History isn't going to be kind to the alleged thief in the White House. Calling the everyday news "fake" may work for a small group of people in a small window of time … coffee brewen.

    In an article in the American Bar Association publication the following conclusion was espoused;

Thanks for letting us know the lawyers of America also think Black people and poor people are too stupid to get an ID. IDs are free- so you can kick that poll tax idea out.

And the questions still remains- Why dont those same people drive, have a job, go to school, see a doctor, go into any Government building, buy controlled prescriptions, buy alcohol, or tobacco ( in some states ) and all the other things you need an ID to do?
Why do poor people , women , and all the others the Democrats leap to defend, manage to come up with an ID for all the above, and lose it just in time to vote?

Why have not those well meaning lawyers, so eager to defend the oppressed sued ever retailer , pharmacy, Government program , liquor stores, employer, and medical provider in the country for requiring an ID? Since the very act of requiring one is discriminatory, I would think they would have lots of fun with that one.

And I find it difficult to understand why you would not want a system in place to make voting as easy as possible for as many people as possible.
Now, or originally? Originally, voting was taken as a privilege as well as a right, but only for those who it was though had some skin the game. They also wanted to have informed voters- cue the laughter if you expected that now.
It is very easy to vote, but there still has to be a system to ensure no one is cheating.

The LBJ quotes have been verified from multiple sources. He also used to conduct Cabinet meetings from the toilet, shouting thru the open bathroom door.

I put the quotes up because you put Cornpone being a Democrat as some sort of proof as to their love of Black people, and really caring about them.

If that were true, the cities Democrats have run for decades would not be poor , crime ridden, and crumbling. It that were true, they would not allow criminal illegals to victimize others in the Hispanic communities with their sanctuary policies. History is going to say despite all his bluster, and obnoxious personal manners, Trump did great things for this country. He reversed the decline of the United States that Obama told us was inevitable.

I have always had to have one to vote. Unless someone is trying to pull a fast one, I see no reason , at any time, for someone to have to prove who they are.

Your reading comprehension needs some improvement. If you think Maisie's blog was about stupid people, you missed the whole point. And trashing Trump was not how you insulted our (the reader's) intelligence -- you did that by making ridiculous statements about voter fraud. You gotta get Trump, Hannity, and Limbaugh out of your head once in a while.
Wake up Lisztomania. Limbaugh, Hannity and ilk created Trump. It's obvious Trump is too stupid to have won the election on his own.

And Today Trump showed the world exactly how easy it is to manipulate him. And how desperate he is to hang on to the Limbaugh crowd.

I'm sure you know, on Wednesday the Senate passed a resolution that would have funded the government through February 8. Limbaugh fumes "Trump gets nothing and the Democrats get everything," Ann Coulter vowed to withhold her support from the president's 2020 campaign if he couldn't deliver on the wall. “They’re about to have a country where no Republican will ever be elected president again,” she told The Daily Caller. “Trump will just have been a joke presidency who scammed the American people and amused the populists for a while, but he’ll have no legacy whatsoever."

Trump flips, flops, tells some more lies and guess what .. we have the Limbaugh Coulter shutdown. ..

I have often wondered why people put Limbaugh so much larger in influence than he is . I still wonder. Ditto Hannity. You love to stereotype Conservatives as people who are somehow glued to their radios when Limbaugh is on. I have never listened to him, dont know anyone who does, and could not tell you what channel he is on, or when.
The media was in the tank for Hillary. They still are 90% negative stories about Trump.
Trump was created by Obama and the Democrats. He spent 8 years trashing the US, bowing to foreign influence, telling the US how racist, sexist, homophobic, Islamophobic, we are, the people were sick of it. Obama's heavy lean away from capitalism and to socialism , while the middle class was getting squeezed was enough of enough. The US was not built on Government- centric policies, but the free market and capitalism. Trump promised a return to that, and to minimize Government influence in our daily lives.

He came at the right time, and won, despite the constant attempts to elect Hillary by the media.

So Trump won.. but what did he win?

And more important what did YOU win, by Trump winning.

I can agree it was a lose/lose proposition for YOU

So ...all you won.... was "defeat"
You won by default...You won by defeating Hillary..

but if you win "defeat".. You own defeat.

Leaning away from capitalism?

Before Trump showed up you were 100% against tariffs. According to you and the Limbaugh crowd, tariffs were the complete opposite of what 'free market capitalism' is about. And tariffs are the tools of socialists and communists. In your words a "non-business man" would call for tariffs.

I'm not hearing much about it now from the pubs .. speaking of bowing to influence.

I have never posted a blog or comment about tariffs. The economics jury is still out on their effectiveness- they get mixed analysis.

As for leaning way from capitalism, I am being kind to Obama. Obamacare, bailouts, nationalizing GM , Cash for Clinkers, Dodd Frank , " spread the wealth" " sooner or later, you have made enough money" and every other reliance on Big Government with regulations, stifling of the free markets, were the hall mark of the Obama administration.
And one more time for the slow class- I have not ever listened to Limbaugh. Have I ever said you are the tool of deranged Chris Matthews?

Maisie, your anti-tariff rants are on my blog. They're on two of my blogs entitled Labor Day.They're still up if you want to take a look. And tariffs were needed when the mass exodus of manufacturing facilities escalated … during the Reagan years. We all know the jobs aren't coming back .. and everyone except the "slow class" knows that Trump needs tariffs to finance his money grab.

Obamacare is a "heavy lean" away from capitalism? Really … Trump ran his campaign on improving government funded socialized Healthcare. He's going to "repeal and replace" .. without tax dollars. Sure he is.

I hate to break it to you, but the Government forcing you to buy a product is not the free market. The writers of Obamacare said that it was the first step to socialized medicine. It was front loaded with goodies, and back loaded with the prices intended to skyrocket, to pave the way for a government takeover.
Improving the programs that already exist is not the same as expanding them to include everyone.

If I have made a comment about tariffs, I have forgotten. Might want to quote me, so I remember- give me title of blog and date, and see if I have changed my mind , in the light of new economic conditions.

Fair trade not Free trade
Protect the US standard of living through tariffs. If a corporation moves its manufactories to a low-wage nation, tax it's imports to a degree that it would be less expensive to manufacture their product in the USA.

One of your comments is quote "What non-business man said that? I am sure they have never had a real job. I know they have never had to analyze a P&L (profit and loss statement) and figure out how to make more money for their stockholders.

Corporations need to make money to stay corporations. There are two ways to improve- sales and lower expenses. The government collects MORE money when the rates are lower. I call it the Wal-mart method of taxation. You charge less, you make more in the long run. Everyday lower taxes.

Countries with business-friendly environments are growing- Canada and Ireland for example, while the US's anti-business climate is driving companies out.
