Cultural appropriation is just another way to divide people in our country. We are a melting pot, where people blend together to work for a better life............ or that is what it is supposed to be. Folks tend to follow traditions in the culture of their parents and grandparents, but also to enjoy those of others. Wednesday evening, we enjoyed supper in a Brazilian steakhouse, last night it was pizza, and Saturday night it will be in the Asia Café...... who knows what we will have tonight. I'm not trying to appropriate anyone's culture, just enjoying it. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I agree the "political correctness" thing has gotten out of hand. Saul Alinski would be proud of the Democrats today. They are following his Rules for Radicals perfectly but don't even realize what they are doing. Was just discussing these very points with some friends this morning....... especially how it minimizes the real victims of those things like racism, sexual harassment and abuse, etc. And now, for tonight we are going to appropriate the culture of a good east Tennessee karaoke bar. . My feeling is that every time I go to the local Jamaican restaurant or buy BoHo style clothing, I am not appropriating their culture. I am supporting their culture so that they can to earn a livelihood doing what they do best. Abracadabra

Well, going to the karaoke bar fell through this evening, so we went to a Mexican and appropriated some of their culture............... like Star said, we helped them make a living. I even brought some back to the room, so we can appropriate some more of it.  Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
