A pristine landscape and a scenic travel paradise

How many of us can name a sea beach from where one can see the full view of sunrise and sunset standing in the same place on a cloudless day? There is only one such sea beach in the world which is located in the southern part of my home country, Bangladesh. Perhaps most of us know that the world’s longest natural sea beach (120 kilometres long) is also located in Cox’s Bazar of this country.

Kuakata is the name of the unique sea beach mentioned above. It is a sandy one but is not long like Cox’s Bazar sea beach. It is only about 30 kilometres long and six kilometres wide. A tourist can enjoy the sunrise early in the morning and see the attractive sunset in the evening the same day standing in the same location.

We also call the place in Bengali “Sagar Kannya”, meaning, “ of Sea”. Its natural scenic beauty is breathtaking. It is also one of the reservations of migratory winter birds in my country. Kuakata has something to offer every tourist.

Two photos of sunrise and sunset respectively are posted below for you to view. These photos were not shot by me. I am not sure about the photographers of these two photos.

How beautiful. I'm afraid I would only see the sunset though, because I am hardly ever up and about at sunrise.
One time, we were staying in a hotel in Myrtle Beach, SC, USA and our balcony faced the ocean. I would set my alarm each morning so I could see the sunrise over the water. It was absolutely stunning and well worth getting up early to see it. I will admit though, that I went back to bed for a little more sleep afterwards.

I used to enjoy the sunrise and sunsets of FL. Don't see much here where I live anymore

Rocket, this sea beach provides something special to a traveller even if his stay there is not more than a day. Thanks for stopping by and for your post. Stay cheerful always.

Thank you so much for your post, Mrs Joe. Your post reminds me of a few days I spent in Cox's Bazar nearly 58 years ago with my wife and newlyborn son on a hilltop rest house facing the Bay of Bengal. Sitting on the balcony of the rest house, we used to see the sun slowly rising from the bay waters at sunrise. Take care. Be safe.

Although I did not visit Florida during my travels across the United States in 1984, I learned about the state from my friends and relatives residing there. If my cardiologist deems it safe for me to travel by air, I plan to spend some time with my relatives in Florida at some point in the future. Thanks for your post, Star Candy. Take Care.

Thanks for stopping by and for the comments left on my blog page. It is always good to hear from you here, dear Maudie. Kuakata is a peaceful place. It is not crowded like other beaches where tourists flock all the time of the year. It is also a location of pilgrimage for the Buddhist and Hindu communities.
Kuakata has protected mangrove forests through which numerous spell-binding channels flow. Take care, Maudie. Stay cheerful always.

I am glad to hear from you, Pearls. The residents of Kuakata are hospitable to people. Some of them migrated from Burma long ago. They are experienced in surviving cyclone storms accompanied by tidal bores. Visitors can see many things in Kuakata and nearby islands. In Crab Island, a visitor will see countless red crabs scurrying around the island. Please take care.

IF I GET UP EARLY ENOUGH AND IT IS A CLEAR DAY, I AM PRETTY SURE I CAN SEE THE SUNRISE AND SUNSET ON A BEACH IN NICE, CANNES AND JUAN-LES PINS. MANY OF OUR SUNSETS ARE BEAUTIFUL OVER THE ESTEREL AND I SEE THOSE QUITE OFTEN. LOVELY PHOTOS LOOK, THANKS FOR SHARING.

Kuakata is a unique location where one can witness the full view of sunrise and sunset from the same spot. I am unsure if any beaches you mentioned offer the same opportunity to see both events from the same spot. I may not know the correct thing in this respect. I may be wrong also. I hope you are keeping well. Take care of yourself, dear Archer.

Nice photos LookLook. You have some beautiful areas in your country. From my living room window I quite often see the sunset between the building behind where I live. We have had some beautiful sunsets of late.

I appreciate your post, Shartaun. You are lucky to have a view of the sunset between the buildings where you live. In the past, I used to watch the sunrise from the rooftop of my two-story building. However, with the construction of skyscrapers on the eastern side, my view has been obstructed. Now, I can only see the sun at noon when it shines directly above me. Take care and stay safe.

LookLook wouldn't you know there was another excellent sunset tonight (Monday Feb 5th). The sky was a brilliant fiery red color. I tried taking a photo of it from my balcony but it didn't turn out very well. I was using my cell phone to take the photo.

We are 14 hours ahead of your time, Shartaun. Our time here in Dhaka is 7:23 AM now. Your time is 5:23 AM. Tuesday (Both places). Yesterday, the sky was cloudy here. It was therefore impossible for us to enjoy the sunset even from an open space. Thanks for your post. Have a nice day, dear friend. Stay Cheerful.
