Brave fight for survival

The monkey sitting on a pillar of the Health Complex fence of a small town of Chittagong division is no longer alive. It came into the limelight across Bangladesh after it came on its own to receive treatment for the severe injuries sustained by it due to an electric shock from the physician of the health complex. (Photo #1).
The monkey was seen looking for food in the locality before it received the massive electric shock. Perhaps it came into contact with a live electric wire while resting on an electric pole.

The health officer of the complex noticed the injured monkey wandering around the health center premises first. He initiated treatment of the wounds of the monkey on the same day. It reappeared again the next day. The medical team of the center applied fresh bandages with medication. The monkey remained calm during the time the medical team treated it. The monkey returned to the health center again the next day. The health center people removed the previous bandage and provided additional dressing.

The monkey was finally transferred to Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Chittagong, for advanced treatment. Though fought bravely, the monkey could not overcome its injuries.

The brave monkey was laid to rest by those who tried to keep it alive for a few more years.

A very sad outcome for the Monkey. I wish he had made it through.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Many of us could not resist tears coming out of our eyes after reading the passing of this brave ape in the newspapers. We thought it would survive and go back to the wild where it belongs. Thanks, Abelle, for stopping by and for your post. Stay well, always.

No doubt, Hawkslayer, the outcome of the Monkey was very unfortunate. We all had hoped for a positive outcome and were deeply saddened by the tragic loss. Stay well and cheerful always.

The little monkey sought help from a health center which does not have arrangements to provide health services to animals. That is why the monkey was sent to a veterinary hospital for advanced treatment by the doctor of the health complex. They tried but could not keep the little monkey alive. Take care of yourself, dear Maudie. Stay cheerful always. I am doing fine.

ISN'T IT AMAZING HOW PEOPLE CAN GET SO ATTACHED TO ANIMALS? HOW ANIMALS STILL COME TO US FOR HELP DESPITE THE AFFLICTIONS SOMETIMES CAUSED BY HUMANS? HOW SAD THAT AFTER TREATMENT BY DEVOTED HUMANS, THE MONKEY DID NOT SURVIVE. HOW ABOUT WE APPLY THE SAME DEVOTION TO HELPING HUMAN BEINGS THAT WE DO FOR OUR ANIMAL FRIENDS?

Archer, it is not new when we find some of us attached to animals. Such people are found everywhere in this world. This case was different. The monkey came to humans for help without fear. To me, this was a surprising act. And choose the right place to treat his injuries! I agree with what you have said about humans helping needy humans. Our attitude towards needy humans should not be different. Take care, dear Archer. Stay well.
