Nodir Kul Nai....

Posted below is the English Translation (not done by me) of the lyrics of the famous Bengali song written by Palli Kobi Jasimuddin nearly a century ago:

The song is a metaphor for human lives.
The shoreless river represents human life.
The broken boat represents us.
The lighting in the Sky takes us down our golden memory lanes.
The Broken Boat is heading to meet our creator--God.

Those who like the song may google " Nodir Kul" and enjoy its original version in Bengali.

O Nodir Kul Nai, Kiner Naire

O river, with no shores and no ends, you flow.
I am lost between bends and banks,
Who do I ask where to go?
O river, with no shores, and no ends, you flow.

Clouds clot in the might, golden flashes of light
The river flows amid in rapid delight
Just now, I glanced at that golden moment
In the blink of an eye, I lost its sight!
O river, with no shores, and no ends, you flow.

Water swells in spite, and fierce waves fight
Yet, I row forward this broken boat.
My merciful savior in perils
I wish I could meet my gracious God.
O river, with no shores, and no ends, you flow.

Thank you Looklook for sharing this poem [lyrics] and the music with us.

I very much liked how our lives are compared to being in a boat on the river of life. By the time we get to this stage in our lives, our boat sure has taken a beating, hasn't it......

Although the end of our journey is on the horizon, let's hope that mooring place is still a bit in the distance, my friend.

I grew up living on the banks of the river Kirtankhola, which flows by the region where my ancestral home was located during the early days of my long life. The river played a vital role in my life. Thanks for stopping by, dear Rocketship. Your post above would inspire me to live peacefully during the remaining days of my life. Take care. Stay cheerful always.

Archer, like others who follow my religion, I believe that human beings are a unique life form created by the almighty creator, with unique gifts and abilities unlike any other: a soul and conscience, knowledge, and free will that will return to the creator on the day fixed by HIM. Human life is a precious gift from the creator. It's truly a blessing to be alive. Be safe, my dearest friend.
