The Night of Troubled Dark The night when the storm shattered my doors Neither did I know nor did I see In the carnage, you had come to me. Everything turned black The lamp went out For whom did I reach out then on high? In the darkness, I lay dreaming. How could I know Was the storm pennant of your triumph? In the morning, I see, There you were, standing There where the emptiness that had filled. An endeavor by me to translate the song " Je Rate Mor Doarguli Bhanglow Jhare' by Tagore. |

EVEN IN THE DARKEST AND MOST DEVESTATING STORM THERE IS HOPE. NICE POEM, THANKS FOR SHARING. You are absolutely right. Hope is always there even if the devastation is beyond imagination! We humans always live in hope. Take care. Be safe. look

Sewg, Your post at above has just taken me back to the time when I was a kid living with my cousins and others assembled together at our large ancestral home from different towns and cities after the invading Imperial Japanese Air force planes bombed Calcutta and Chittagong respectively. The building was a large brick built tin roofed one. And it was monsoon time too. You can well imagine the fun we had during the time even though we missed our friends left in cities and towns! The rhythmical sounds of the falling rains on the rooftop at night kept some of us awake until the sounds heard no longer. Though we used to play games in the falling rains during day times when the rains did not accompany lightening and thunders! Sandy, those were the times I miss now! Sometimes, even now I feel like walking in the rain alone to release and wipe out the agony and pain accumulated inside me! Take Care and be safe.

Nice poem Look. Reading your poem reminds of when I was a kid. We used get rainstorms after a number of hot days. Sometimes there would be hail along with the rain. I think we had single pane windows in those days as always had to hold pillows against the windows so they wouldn't break.
