Friend, what is this anxiety?

What is the worry, dear friend?

Here bellow is the free -text English translation of Tagore’s famous love song attempted by a 12-year-old girl whose name was never mentioned by her father while posting it for us to read on August 15, 2013. However, I agree with the father of the girl that this is “an adventure of words only a young mind can attempt”. Because, it is not easy to translate such a song from the original language word by word to another rich language- be it English, French or Bengali! By the by, I may add here that the girl is apparently in last of her teens now and may not attempt to translate the song again afresh for obvious reason. May be, she looks at love differently now!

Comrade, what is this worry?
Explain, the meaning of pain, oh friend!
Day in day out you all speak of love
Define it to me - is it only pain?
Does it only bring tears to shed?
Is it only a fragrance of sorrow?
Why do you all indulge in such a luxury of pain...?

In my eyes it's all beautiful
All golden and fair and bright ..
The blue sky the green woodlands
The pale moonlight and the warm sunshine
They are all alike to me
They laugh sing and play all along
Like the flowers that shed their petals laughing

The moonlight laughs and fades away
The sea of lights overflows with laughter
The stars look down from their abode and smile

But there's none so joyful as me
Come friend, come to me
The joyous song from the heart of the joyful
Will fill you with joyous peace.

You cry your heart out all day and night
Come laugh and enjoy its charm this day
Leave behind the melancholy past, come dear
Come join me in my joyful song.

When one knows why one likes someone, It’s a crush! When one
has no reason or explanation. It’s love!
What do you think?

LOOK, YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO THAT LOVE IS BOTH JOY AND PAIN. THAT DISLIKE CAN TURN INTO LOVE AND VICE VERSA. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. WE LEARN THAT AS WE GROW OLDER, DO WE NOT?

The pain????

The pain is not in the love you have.. It's in the "love"?????? you want..

I think this poem is written from the point of view of a young person, who believes love is wonderful and dosen't understand with love there is good times, bad times and sometimes, even with love you still get hurt.

Yes Archer, you are absolutely right. However, the pain part of love helped me to measure the depth of my love for someone whom I met in a most unlikely place!
Thanks for stopping by. Take care

I like the poem, Look Look. And I agree with each one of the comments. The fourth picture describes what love is...I guess.
Thanks for the blog.

Thanks for stopping by, jiminy. I have no ready answer to the question that you have left here on my blog page. All my entire life I looked for unconditional love even if it is sometimes painful. You are a poet, Jiminy. I am sure you know what really dwells in true love! Stay well and cheerful, Jiminy.

The song, which was a part of a dance drama, was written by the Bengali Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore in the year 1880 when he was only 20 years old. He was the first Asian recipient of the prize and was awarded Nobel for literature in 1913. Thanks Butterfly for your analytical comments on the poem. You can listen to the song if you look for it on net. Just Google, " Sokhi Bhabona Kahare Bole". Stay well and cheerful always.

Deborahsu, Thanks for your thoughtful post that you have left here on my blog page in response to the blog uploaded by me. Deb, love is really something that cannot be explained but only felt. Even a mere hug can keep us happy eternally! Have a nice weekend.

The love you have is all you need.....The pain is through the love you no longer have.. Like you can lose it..Like there are conditions that unconditional love can be taken from you..

LOVE ISLAND

The mermaid slips back to the sea
Now in hiding, from the sailor in me
But there she'll ponder how love goes
That life is only what she knows

Lost upon the mermaid's island
The sailor seeks the safe highland
and there he'll ponder how love goes
That life is only what he knows

Love, it may come and go
As in life, God has made it so
Each measure of joy, not meaning much
But simply defined through those you touch

For in seeking the highland, or the sea
It matters not, where love can be
If your life touches another heart
Then your love can leave..
But not depart

Thank you, jiminy for your response to my post meant for you to read and ponder! While your mermaid slipped back to sea to hide from the sailor in you, mine one has lost her beloved while busy swimming with the Dolphins!
Appended here is the text of one of my blogs titled " Riding the mighty waves" that may interest you.

To the Mermaid

Riding the mighty waves often
You have many times touched the blue horizon
And walked along the shores of Indian Ocean
Miles and miles looking for the one
You have lost while busy swimming with the Dolphins!

He, who you lost,
Always wanted to go to the ocean
For gliding on blues with you,
To catch a glimpse of the flying Gulls
Is nowhere to be found now.

Remember, if there is no love,
living alone in total loneliness,
where could he find company?
Tell me please
where could he?

True Jiminy. love does not depart but it does not also replace the lost one!

Wonderful poems Looklook, very meaningful and very touchy as well. I've read both of them and you above comments also. To my opinion, once love was, once it was true, once it was anchored deep in both of your hearts, it never dies for whichever reason. It can't be forgotten, neither nothing and nor one can or would ever be able to erase it. That's eventually a fact. The happy and the sad times, you had both spent together, they are in the minds, in the memory, the joy and the pain linger on, do you know why?. It's because the love between both of you, haven't vanished nor died away. It's still there in the chamber of both your hearts. Thank you so much for these nice poems and for the good read, . I wish you all my very best. May God bless you always.

Thank you so much for your comments left at above! Lisa, the poem tells everything about someone who loved only once in his entire life. He now lives in total nothingness! He now feels like........
" Like a descendant, I drifted far, far and wide
Isolation, separation, nowhere to hide
Maybe there's somewhere I can go
Where there's sunshine and the wind won't blow
Nothingness."

Always take care. Stay well and happy.

I understand your above response Ninu, hold on hope, don't be so desperate, you are not what you think of yourself, nothing stays the same all life . There is always a piece of sunshine for everyone in life. As it is said: " After the rain, comes the beautiful weather". When one has faith, belief, confidence and optimism, things and situation may change for the best. May be unexpectedly as well. So, you should be. Wishing you all my best and sending you some sunshine.

Thank you so much, Lisa, for understanding the response to your post made at above. I may take this opportunity to draw your attention to my blog titled "Nothingness" posted on 11/8/2018 here on this site. I do not dream now.
Thanks once again for stopping by and for your posts. Best wishes. Be happy.
