A Distinct Nip In the Air

I felt it late last night that there is distinct nip in the air.

The winter has probably arrived a bit early this year as the late autumn has left us suddenly before its allotted time. The few showers fallen in the night before last have alerted me about the advent of winter as I also felt cool in the early morning!
The recent sight of the city getting covered with light fog each evening tells me the early arrival of the winter, the season I like best as its arrival heralds the advent of spring!!
May be the met office would not agree with me about the moving away of south-western monsoon from us. Yet, many like me have been feeling of late the cool touch of northern breeze in the morning!

This being my 100th blog, I wished to write a few lines about a poet who has banned me from reading his poems being re posted here on his blog page, almost daily apparently being unable to accept my comments on one of his poem or for something else more personal that he did not disclose to me.
However, I changed my intention subsequently and decided to drop the idea and be myself as I felt that the effort would be a waste of my time and energy and would worth nothing else!!
Therefore, my readers may kindly view some of the pictures of the rain and winter that are yet to be shared by me with them and are still available in my computer, in stead of reading a retort to a poet for his unexplained reasons for banning me! As for myself, I am not interested to hear anything from this gentleman anymore.

Happy Viewing:

I like the next to the last one best. Fall has skilled us here so far. It was over 100 here most of last week. This week we have had humidity and actual thunder showers - something that rarely happens here.

Hello Look, I liked your description of winter's early arrival (distinctive nip in the air). I too like winter although perhaps for different reasons. Viewing the pictures was pleasurable and I particularly like the wistful sepia-like photo and second last. Congratulations on your 100th blog and the decision to direct your time/energy on matters/people more worthwhile :- ) Take care.

Mary Ann, many thanks for stopping by my 100th blog and leaving a wonderful comment there on. It pleases me most to see that you are the first to pass by here as usual.
According to Meteorological Department, mercury is supposed to begin to dip in the month of November and winter will be here with its full fury in the second half of November. However, I feel that winter is already here this year!
January is the coolest month, and at this time the average temperature in most of the places of Bangladesh is 16–20 °C (61–68 °F) during the day time and about 10 °C (50 °F) during the night. However, the northern part of the country experiences much cold and temperature sometimes goes down below 5°C during night.
Wishing you all the best.

Thank you so much for liking the pictures. The weather pattern everywhere in the world is changing now. It is possible that we humans have contributed much in this respect unknowingly which may prove fetal for us in future.
Best wishes,spiritwoman

Lilium, many many thanks for your comments and also for congratulating me on my 100th blog. I took the decision as I know that some deserved to be ignored totally to avoid undesirable controversy! I trust that a day will surely come when such people will feel remorse for their past acts. Wonder, whether the poem Desiderata has influenced me to take the decision!
Wishing you all the best. Take care and be happy, lilium.

Peace be with you Look, I too find 'Desiderata' helps put things in perspective. I came across an encouraging quote yesterday which I hold dear; hopefully I will find the courage to act when/where it matters most. I hope you don't mind its inclusion; thank you.

'I swore never to be silent whenever human beings endure suffering and humiliation. We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Sometimes we must interfere' - Elie Wiesel (holocaust survivor)

Thanks,Lilium for quoting from "Elie" Wiesel ,the Romanian-born Jewish writer, professor, political activist, and Nobel Laureate. I do not mind for the inclusion. Rather, I feel like include another of Elie's famous quote here under which I presume you know also!

"The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference."

I trust that the woman I loved at the fag end of my life will not hate me for loving her so passionately! I shall always wish her happiness with anyone she would love !
Have a nice and pleasant week!
