The Swan song

"Days will pass, day after day
Just the way it does today
Ferryboats will fill up that day
Piers full in the very same way
In that field, cows will graze, cowherds will play
So be it if you recall me or not
So be it if gazing up at the stars, you call me or not."

I could not recollect when these few lines of the famous song touched my heart deeply. Was it when I was a young university student passing times with my friends in the common room or was it very recently when my loved one preferred to leave me alone? Why do the lines make me pensive and sad whenever I listen to someone singing the song? I know none could help me to ascertain the reason. Must we not eventually leave this world one day for the unknown? Then why can we not endure separation when both are alive? Why the separation makes us cry? Can any one come up with an answer??

Happy Reading:

These words have brought memories flooding back into my mind.

Death of a loved one is easier than separating from someone you love. I say this from experience, as I am sure I am not the only one who has gone through these things.

When someone dies we think of only the good things we shared together, but when two people separate, one of the two will be hurt because deep down they can't understand how someone they would die for could just walk away. The pain will always remain, even though it's buried deep within the mind, it will surface again when that person meets someone new. Can they ever trust again? Will they ever fall in love again? That will depend on the person and if they are willing to throw caution to the wind and take another chance.

Processing loss is one of the most difficult challenges we face.

To me the song also reminds us of our own mortality and our individual insignificance in comparison to the whole. Ego vs spirit

Mrs.Joe.
Thank you so much for your comments left here on my blog. I am sorry if the blog brought tears of sadness to your eyes. It was not my intention to cause such discomforts to my readers. I do not know why the words of this song have touched my soul so much since my youth. A recent separation from a dear one has no doubt aggravated the situation and has made me to post the blog. Thanking you again for your kind and sympathetic words. Regards and best wishes.

Earthytaurus.
Delighted to read you here after such a long time. Hope you are feeling better and recovering fast after receiving the treatment.
Perhaps you have read the English poet Percy Bysshe Shelley's famous lines mentioned below:
"We look before and after,
And pine for what is not:
Our sincerest laughter
With some pain is fraught;
Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought."
Stay well and happy always. Regards.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and for leaving such meaningful comments on it to ponder upon. You are so right Nileyears! I agree with the entire comments left here on by you. Taking another chance? It would not happen again in my case as person like me would never share love and affection with more than one afresh!
Have a nice weekend. Best wishes and regards.

Thanks Lilium for the kind words. I appreciate. I know time heals everything. However, the scars always remain!!
Both myself and my loved one are alive but living far from each other-----mentally as well as emotionally!
Have a wonderful week end. Regards and best wishes.
