Deleted comments

Realized I have to start deleting comments from those people who only want to cause trouble. Some of them have often done that to me in the past anyway, when they can't cope with the truth.

There are a few that I've just grown bored dealing with. They actively look for reasons to attack. It was fun for a while, but it's grown tedious.

 I am extremely fortunate to have only had this happen once or twice. I have never deleted any of them. I figure those who are inappropriate only show themselves to be what they are. If a person wants to look like an azz they are welcome to it and I won't dignify them with a reaction.

 Hi Gav: I think the same people that reply to a blog only to insult the blogger or others that replied should be blocked. If you just delete an insult, the person knows you read it so their goal is accomplished and no-one else knows how disgusting they are.

 Leaf, you and I disagree on almost everything, but I don't ever remember you making our differences an opportunity for personal attacks. Therefore, I'd never delete you.

I understand the desire not to delete anyone. But I guess I've just become too tired of the angry drama that suppresses civil dialogue.

Once I realize that the person and I are never going to convince each other to accept the other's view, it just seems pointless to go on. With some folks, it's possible to politely agree to disagree. But not everyone.

You raise a valid point Bijou. I may have to eventually do that. At least for a while I'd like to leave it open for everyone to comment as long as they don't make personal attacks on me or anyone else. I hope that works or I'll have to take your suggestion.

 I only delete comments that insult others. I believe that policy preserves civility in my blogs. If you direct vitriol at anyone other than me, you get deep sixed, and you will be told. There is no appeal.

If people want to make fools of themselves by demonstrating their foibles to the entire world I'm not going to stop them.

I will, occasionally, delete the comment of someone who has blocked me from posting in their blogs if I am off my oats.

I used to feel the same way, but I think I have more enemies than you and they stay so persistent, that they end up drifting away from the original blog and dominating.

More enemies than a godless, commie-loving socialist? And a foreign one, on top of all that.

I doubt it.

I think you just need to develop a thicker hide.

What is it about conservatives that makes them so sensitive to any criticism stated, implied, or inferred?
