On Clicks

When I do my composing and recording, there are features in the programs that are designed to help establish a beat. They are referred to as "Click" tracks. They are uniform, automatic, and are to be discarded as soon in the process as possible.

You see, "click" tracks are mindless. They follow a rigid beat with no independent expression. A composer has to establish his own independent beats and rhythms, and then he can dispense with these awful tracks that show no creativity or intelligent input.

I note with regret that the "clicks" are back in SFF blogs again. These "clicks" endeavor to complain about those they don't like, over even the slightest infraction, and their unspoken message is "Let's all join me in disliking that person." These "click tracks" are attempting to insert themselves into the composition, and their interest is not in conveying a message to those they don't like, as much as it is an attempt to gain their own acceptance among the other "clickers" by denigrating the person they dislike and inciting others to attack them too.

I turn off the click tracks just as soon as possible. I'd suggest others do the same.

Just a thought.

GBU all,

Gavin

Hi Gav: Just because certain members have the same opinions on a number of topics, it doesn't mean they're in some kind of clique or that they get together behind the scenes and plot how they will gang up on other members. There's room here for everyone, no matter what their opinion, but just as it is in real life, there are certain unwritten rules of etiquette that apply. If someone goes from blog to blog in any internet group and intentionally insults people, then unfortunately they are responsible for the social consequences of their actions.

Having said all that, I feel bad and worry about people when they leave the group after they feel hurt or are insulted in the blogs. I think about Leafy every day and miss his insightful blogs, and worried about you too when you were away. I just hope JKH will be o.k.

Mrs Joe said it best.

And Karin, none of you are capable of annoying me. Get over yourself. SFF blogs are just not that important to me anymore.

As for the rest of the comments here, my original post still stands. There ARE one or two people who hold grudges in SFF blogs, and actively LOOK for opportunities to write entire blogs about someone they don't like, even if that person makes an idle minor comment on someone else's blog.

Then, they encourage others to join them in a hate fest.

Tiny little minds seeking approval from the larger group, by attacking another person. Internet bullies.

One person responding to a blog requesting prayer, reminds the blogger that many on SFF don't believe in God. Bad taste? Yup. Worth making an issue about? Nope. The original comment was so trivial that a true adult would have just ignored it, because it attacked no one by name and merely stated a fact.

I don't give a shyte personally. I whipped them and humiliated them the last time when they tried to pull it on me. But they are like an infection that keeps coming back.

Frankly, I'm just not that interested in SFF blogs anymore, so I really don't care. I just stated a FACT.

I bet there will be a blog or two now attacking me. That will prove my point. I'll probably ignore that one too.

GBU all,

Gavin
