Every day is a garden day

A few more views and individual plants from the garden.

In the last picture our woodland dell is filling out nicely. Good place sit in an afternoon out of the hot sun.

View the garden

Phygelium Fanfare Cream (Cape Fuchsia) has unusual flowers

The rest of the pansies are just about over but this one just keeps on flowering.

Blue ageratum

The planters under the troughs and hanging baskets on the deck are almost in full flower.

Second flowering of this clematis with a lot more come.

Amaranthus (Love lies bleeding) just starting flower

This geranium has overwintered for the last years and seems well settled into its sheltered corner.

The Hollyhock makes a display its own

Thank you for your ever positive comments. I know you like English cottage gardens and we are trying to build ours into one.

LOVELY PLANTS AND FLOWERS. I HAVE RECUPERATED MY BALCONY BUT THE ONLY THING I CAN PLANT THIS TIME OF YEAR IS CACTUS. EVERYTHING ELSE BURNS WITH DUE SOUTHERN EXPOSURE.

That's amazing fitting so many flowers into your space......When I moved ..6 years ago, I brought with me some of my flowers.....I've grown Montbresia everywhere I've lived......and never had any problem......but this patch never flowered.......6 years...I was planning to dig them up and discard them in the Fall, but lo and behold, I noticed today that there are many budding stalks.....I have no idea why it took them so long....do you?

Montbretia (crocosmia) often take 2-3 years to flower even after they have grown quite bushy clumps of leaves. They can take longer in shaded areas or if they get dry before the blooming season.
We have a clump under a hedge in part shade and they are now well established but have not yet flowered; this is their third year. The hedge dries out the ground very quickly so we need to water frequently.

Update -- the crocosmia have put up TWO whole flower stalks since I posted this. I will await further developments.

Thank you......This Summer has been the wettest we've had since I moved, and they are in shade part of the day. I have seen beds of them flowering prolifically in abandoned homesteads that are overgrown in Alder so they are in shade all day and are never watered.......That's why I was surprised.....I have also seen them thriving in the bottom of a ditch that has standing water all Winter.....
I'm very happy they are flowering....Good-old Montbretia......

A visit to your beautiful garden is always a good way to start the day. The lovely clematis is one of my favourite plants. Such a wonderful variety to choose from.
