Today's favourites

With the sun out everything in the garden looks more cheerful, brighter and better.
A few of the brightest from today's trip around the patch.
The first nasturtiums came from a packet of seeds labelled 'Pastel shades'. No comment lol.

Deep red nasturtium

Salmon pink nasturtium

Double yellow nasturtium

Oriental lilies

Fuchsias flowering fit burst.

The pelargoniums are starting flower at last.

The first of what looks be a lot of pink straw flowers.

This giant calla lily gets bigger every year. It is at least 3 feet tall -- so far.

This hanging basket has been flowering the whole of spring and summer. Creeping jenny just gets brighter and hangs down further every day.

Bright, cheerful calendula loving the sunshine.

Great shots, especially the close ups of the nasturtiums and canna lily - love the intense yellow contrast against green. I'm thinking a yellow canna lily would make a handsome companion to the beautiful dusky pink canna lily given by my neighbour last year. I'm in flower heaven, lol.

Thanks for the positive comment Lilium, I am glad you liked the pics.

The yellow lily is a Calla Lily; Canna Lilies are rather different with flowers that look a bit like a cross between gladioli and flag irises.

Thanks for the correction Bond - I meant calla lilly (got the names mixed up even though both different as you pointed out)

Would just like to add I do know the difference between the canna and calla lily - for some reason my mind fixated on canna. Was your 'correction' an underhanded way of getting back at me/what you consider my 'comeuppance' for a comment I left on another's blog? I ask because you pointed out my error (calla lily) yet neglected to answer a couple of questions asked in your previous post (veg). Perhaps I am reading too much into things but I am reasonably direct and appreciate same. Thanks

Sorry I did not know I had left your questions unanswered. I will go back and correct my omission.

I was not being underhand, I just did not wish you to get the wrong sort of lily.I have mixed up calla and canna lilies myself in the past.

Thanks Bond, I didn't really think it in you to be underhanded and my apologies if I have caused offence. You are a gentleman. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner - it's been a long day and I'm pooped.
