Today in the garden

Everything is growing apace so there is daily more and more colour to just wander around and look at.

A view down the garden. It s only 70 feet long but slopes almost 9 feet so is divided into beds on 7 levels.

An almost black petunia. Unusual we thought but beautiful colour.

Looking up at the top level garden-- the deck festooned with as many flowers as I can pack in.

Another trailing fuchsia - they do flower profusely.

More petunias.Simple flowers but bright and colourful.

Caught this bee collecting pollen from the Shasta daisies.

Troughs and hanging baskets -- my personal favourites for adding colour - and they can be changed several times in the season.

This sea lavender over wintered and has been flowering since March -- it is still putting up new flower stalks.

Tomatoes, aubergines, sweet peppers, carrots and cucumbers in the greenhouse.

Even the humble potato can have beautiful flowers.

Pleasing to the senses . I especially like the photo of the potato flowers which look like a watercolour painting and the shasta daisy with visiting bee. I've always liked the simple petunia with its velvety texture - hopefully it's not inappropriate to say that the black (almost) petunia looks sexy.

Thanks for the additional info re borage.

You gave your garden a beautiful look. The first picture shows a piece in back that looks like a roofed wicker beach chair. Am I right?

Thank you Seek -- Mrs J does the designs on paper -- I just do the digging, landscaping and planting.

What you see in the first picture is actually a hen house inside a 2 foot fence whch I built so that we could use it as a rabbit hutch (my daughter's 'Bunny Palace' ) until the rabbit died about 6 weeks ago.
Mrs J wants to replace her tortoise and we will be using the bunny palace as a tortoise house when the tortoise is bigger.
