I'd love a response which didn't contain the words "crosshairs," "venom" or "spew."

Beautiful words to live by, but also difficult to do sometimes.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Like always, you usually get what you give. That, my friend, is something I should remember when dealing with the trials of life. It is, indeed, difficult to do.

I remember reading War and Peace many years ago and found it a bit tedious. I may pick it up and give it another try. Thanks for the quote. It is exactly what I had in mind when I wrote the blog.

    Quoting sparkleflit:
You seem to be confusing forgiveness with reconciliation.......
They really are two quite different situations. There can be no reconciliation without forgiveness, but there can be forgiveness without reconciliation.
I look at forgiveness of others as being for my own peace of mind, not the other person's. And their forgiveness or not of me is their concern, not mine, unless we are seeking to reconcile a relationship. Some relationships are best left dissolved, but forgiveness is necessary.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I agree, 100%. Does it really matter if one cones before the other?

Great blog, Fossil!!
There are those I've known who never forgave old friends when they should or could have but then it was too late when those old friends departed! How very sad!

Thanks, Salsa. Like YAYA, you and I know about this matter personally, don't we? We survived though.

Thanks for stopping by.

Great blog...

let me try to add to it and not detract from a single word..

Those who can't forgive are a the "victim" of their own undoing....?

The action that requires forgiveness. is first the reaction....Once one forgives themselves for that......... the rest falls pretty easily.

Fossil_Fetcher replies on 9/4/2018 11:25 am:
Well, Jiminy, I know that in some cases there can never be forgiveness. If that makes the person who was hurt the "victim of their own undoing," I guess they will go to the grave with the burden. I know fully well that some people can never forgive things which have happened. I'm sure you do too.
