My homelife was so bad, that I had an imaginary place to run and hide. I could close my eyes and in my mind I crawled out my bedroom window. I rode my bike through the small town and out the north road, around the bend about a mile out, and then crossed the small highway about a mile from that. Past the highway, about a quarter of a mile, there was thick row of trees that stretched half mile or so from the road. I got off my bike, looked around to be sure nobody was near, and pushed my bike down that row of trees for a ways, then into the trees. There was my secret place..... a pool of water, surrounded by boulders and rocks, with water trickling down the rocks. I was safe there. Nobody knew it was there...... and of course, even though the path to it was real, the place itself wasn't. I would go there in times of extreme stress, and sometimes in my dreams. After I was married, I hardly ever thought about it, until after my husband died, and I found myself dreaming about it occasionally. Imagine my surprise, when I came across a picture on the internet almost exactly like my secret place. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I stowed away 3000 hrs in the Flight Engineers seat on a C-141, a few may have been suspicious.. then 3000 hrs on the C-5, same seat, more comfortable. Went through Hickam and Yokota many times. They finally wised up to me when I got old and my career wasn't advancing.. Disclaimer: some of those hours I may have been on the crapper or crew rest bunk

Do you remember the kids that stowed away in the nose landing gear wheel well of a 141? Found them at Kadena. Dead. I wasn't on that crew, but went through there when it happened

I often had to contend with bullies as a youngster. I heard word that one of the bullies was going to "get me." I took the hills home. I sat on top of a mountain and watched the bully with her crowd of spectators waiting for me. I laughed at their stupid azzzzzes.
