Sure glad I'm not your neighbor, that is a sight I would not want to see! North of St. Louis is an area of cliffs where bald eagles winter over. Further up the Mississippi, they can be found all year long, but more so in the winter. One of my daughters has a home in that area, and takes pictures of them frequently. Majestic birds! Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Nice blog Fossil, the bird is wonderful really. We don't have it here in the wild. But I think in the birds Park, they may have it. Thanks.

Check out Berry College, Rome, GA this is a college with (I think) 25,000 acres. They have cameras mounted on an eagles nest there. You can watch them hatch and raise their young every year. . The beginning of life, conception..

Fossil, an informative and well written blog. Bald eagles live near bodies of water and no wonder; you came across one of this Birds munching on a freshly caught fish while you two walked on the beach! Thanks for sharing. Take Care and stay happy and cheerful always. Merry Christmas.

We have a very similar one here. we call it a Sea Eagle. Once I was fishing with a light line (9lb) and it took my bait which was part of a fish skeleton. I tried to play it like a fish. No go. No matter how hard I put pressure on the line it just kept flying. I then held the line tight thinking it would slow it down. Not a chance. When the line broke it didnt miss a wing beat. I was hoping for some sort of a falter in it's flight. Nothing like that happened. They are pretty powerful. Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.
