The answer is never. If it were a group of friends, and not too crowded so we all had personal space (see? I am assuming I would be among those friends) and we had plenty to do, like eating at nice restaurants, (think Cock of the Walk), I believe life would be pretty much peaceful. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I doubt any island YOU would be on.....would be peaceful. Just think, you wouldn't need any guns there either! It's not about Muslims, it's about people getting their way and how far they are willing to go to get it. You can go hide out on an island. But what's NOT looking for you, is always going seem to find you.

It would last until the United Nations declare it is against human rights for you not to let outsiders who are looking for a better life style move onto your island. Private or not they got human rights whether you like it or not and they get to come on your island. Base line humans have no human rights, only minority groups and the "oppressed' have these rights and you must bow down to them.

We could make a movie about it. Call it "The Island of Dr Fossil" Oh I forget... that would plageristic. It's already been done. The "Island of Doctor Moreau" is an 1896 science fiction novel by H. G. Wells, who called it "an exercise in youthful blasphemy". The text of the novel is the narration of Edward Prendick, a shipwrecked man rescued by a passing boat who is left on the island home of Doctor Moreau, who creates human-like hybrid beings from animals via vivisection. The novel deals with a number of philosophical themes, including pain and cruelty, moral responsibility, human identity, and human interference with nature. Okay, so that won't work. Maybe we could call it...., "Jonesboro Island", or "The Resettlement of Gilligan's Island".

Honestly I think I would get bored rather quickly from the vanilla custard sameness of the other inhabitants but as long as I had plenty of personal space the isolation would be a perfect place to do my creative and spiritual work. That would never happen. Even if I were invited and accepted I would like be one of the first voted off the island for not engaging in the exchange of insults. Spiritwoman ^i^

William Golding's 'Lord of the Flies' comes to mind and not a Muslim amongst them [marooned boys] -

Sorry lulu, didn't read your 'Lord of the Flies' reference earlier - a disturbing/thought provoking read nonetheless of isolation and reverting to/emergence of primitive behaviour/s [not meant as a personal slight Fossil].

Vanilla custard? Will that be in a pie shell or inside an éclair. Yummmm. Now, I also want to know, will we have individual homes or will we live in a large condo with a central kitchen? The WHO is doing the cooking. I need more facts before I sign on the dotted line. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

A good place for you to go to feel safe Fossil, would be Inishbofin Island off the Galway Coast in Ireland. Some say that even the sheep are not safe there!! but definitely no muslims allowed.
