Anti-American, Really?

Maisie took the normal tack, for her, when confronted with reality not to her liking yesterday. She characterized me as being an anti-american for telling the truth about a series of US orchestrated atrocities in Chile on September 11, 1973.

She did not contest the veracity of the claims that my copied and pasted graphic made. No, she did not, because the US orchestrated regime change and the attending death, torture and subjugation of portions or the Chilean population are a matter of public record. So the easy and intellectually dishonest way to deal with this, for her, was to castigate me and to incorrectly label me. Equally as onerous was her transparent attempt to include my wife into her displeasure. How very vindictive. How utterly shallow!

She apparently took offense at the representation that the US is a supporter of terror. Yet even that is a matter of public record. More recently in the waterboarding that occurred under the auspices of the US Government in its ill fated regime change in Iraq. Apparently she disagrees with the Geneva Conventions on torture.

Equally as important is the long list of US orchestrated regime changes that are a matter of public record. These stretch back for more than fifty years. These are also a matter of public record. These regime changes, more than eighty in number, were very often accompanied by torture, murder, imprisonment of those defined as "undesirable" and massacres of civilians.

In spite of the fact that Maisie rails against revisionist history, apparently she is a charlatan that actually embraces revisionist history. Why else would she take such offense at someone's account of a historical event? Why else does she apparently deny the reality of a long history of US involvement of the overthrow of democratically elected foreign governments? Why else would she deny the murder of foreign civilians, the torture of these civilians and the subjugation of portions of a nations citizenry?

More to the point, does speaking about these US orchestrated atrocities, these incidents of torture, these unreported and under reported massacres make one an "Anti-American"? Does telling the truth make one less than someone that prefers revisionism? I propose to you that it does not.

That's what super-patriots do.

My country right or wrong.

Makes them no difference from Nazis.

    Quoting Adolpho:
Super patriots? That is funny Rent.
Hmm....

Upon reflection, perhaps uber-patriot is a better term.
